Would you trust Kwik Fit with a service and MOT

They are fitters (shoddy ones at that), not mechanics.

Go to a proper garage.

They also like to take other peoples cars on 12 mile joyrides and get very upset when you complain.

I complained to Kwikfit HO after they were seen hooning around the ring road in my Scoob. Sadly no proof was available as to whether they were speeding in it and I had a couple of them make comments to me whilst out one Firday night.

They also completely messed up the £70 geometry setup they did to my car and it destroyed the front tyres in 2 weeks.

I would not give them a Scalextric car let alone a real one.

Whilst in rant mode, even the other fitters in my area are a bunch of clowns. Admittedly they are a little more trustworthy than Kwikfit they still managed ti open the drivers door of my car with the ignition key in hand and made a nice 1/4 inch deep scratch above the handle - again no proof so not much to be said.

Off my chest now :D

Would never trust Kwik Fit to do any job. My dad got ripped of on numerous occasions, even ATS EuroMaster is worth opting over Kwik Fit.

ATS have done exhausts and tyres for both of our cars and never had a problem with them. They have been very competitively prives.

my brother is a manager of a branch and most are mechanics not just trained fitters ;]

Christ...How does he sleep at night? ;)

I had enough trouble when I worked for MS...

In short.

No.

Even if i had 4 flat tyres and my only alternative was pushing the car 10 miles to the next tyre fitters.

if it was free i wouldnt do it. :(

the experiences i had with them when i was a new driver is enough to put me off for life.
monkeys.

I paid for a 36k Service for a Fiat Stilo £330. :(

Now its out of warenty it went to the Fiat Specialists, they only wanted £150 for the service. :)

Shame the bill came to £530 after I have front discs and pads and rear pads replaced

same story here

service on my picasso, Bristol street wanted well over £200 plus MOT on top. My local guy did MOT and service and £120 which i thought was a good price considering how much the dealership charge.

£40 for MOT so £80 for the service. But when you consider all they will do is oil, oil and air filters and maybe your plugs, then its expensive. You could do the lot yourself for £20-£30 and a couple of hours of your time.

Depends on the individual franchise tbh. Whilst one of the KF's round here is staffed with genuinely decent guys who know what they're doing and take care of your car, another that I went to is staffed by morons who managed to take a chunk out of the lacquer/paint/whatever-it-is on one of my alloys :(

^^ what he said, its a franchise so assume they are spanner monkeys till you know otherwise :D
I know my local nationwide garage is decent so I often go there for offical stuff, plus they will do a quadruple discount for tesco points on mot or service charges :D
