...walk a mile through a city to collect a more than little bit drunk housemate at 3am?

Just I did last night and I was wondering whether most people would or if i'm just a soft touch :p

with out a doubt.

Also its only a mile, thats 15 min walk, i would probably go further than that if needed, and no im not some soft touch I just know if I needed to go pick a friend up it would be for a good reason.

Depends whether i was asleep or not.

Sleeping no, awake yes.

regardless, I dont think i could live with my self if anything happened and I used the excuse "but I was asleep".

Yep, I'd do it for anyone I'd call a mate and I'd be fairly sure they'd do the same for me if needed. It doesn't make you a soft touch, it is however one of the things that can make you a good mate. :)

You would be a **** if you didn't.

I'd probably be a little peeved but I'd do it, sure they'd do the same in return and it just saves any trouble.
Saying that though, my flat is quite a distance from anywhere I tend to drink and I always make it back...

 I walk a mile in 10 minutes
And 5 minutes biking, I do it twice everyday to school.

Don't talk rubbish.
I've ran 8 marathons and countless half marathons and my running pace is 10 minute miling over that distance.
If you've got a walking pace of 6 mph I would get in touch with the Olympic Committee.

Over 26 miles yes. But how fast could you run one mile? :) A lot faster obviously.
