So how much is the one year sub they're offering? I can't follow the link from work.

Also, does anyone know when this offer will expire? Obviously they'll probably still be offering the 12-month pass, but the mount, beta access and D3 - are they going to be available forever too?

the same prices - just a contract *commitment* to 1 years subs - for that they will let you have D3 for free , the in game mount in the next content paatch and a beta key to panda land

As said, there is no "special 12 month paid sub". You just sign an agreement "contract" for 12 months. You can pay Monthly, Quarterly or 6 monthly, even with time cards.

Its just a 12 month commitment contract.

So the one year pass is made up of however you want to divvy up the year? If you go for the 3-monthly option, for example, do they bill you each and every third month, with no option to cancel until you've paid for the full year? I can't imagine them taking out the full year's sub in one hit, otherwise who'd take the plan that worked out more? Not a bad way of doing it really, but I was kinda hoping they'd offer a more heavily discounted one-off payment for the full year.

Thats bascally it :) You can't cancel till the date after the 12th month, regardless of how much time you bought. You could buy up 12 months of time and not play. But you still can't cancel your WoW account till after the 12th month. It makes there subs figures good for the investor meetings :)
 
i know you say heavily discounted - but the 2 x 6 month option is £15 a year cheaper than monthly - and you get D3 etc as well
 
It's basically a sneaky way of ensuring they get 12 month worth of subscriber money at a time when its very traditional for subs to drop while waiting on the expansion.

Only people its a remotely good deal for are the ones that will keep getting full use out of the sub for 12 months.
 
I did this before, even though I am thinking of playing Rift too. Seems an okay offer, as I was going to buy D3 anyway :)

Just seems as though they can lock people in, so they can see how much wow is starting to fall by.
 
With the free copy of D3 this works out as roughly 12 months for the price of 8ish (depending on pricing model and how much you would otherwise shop around to get the best deal on D3). If you intend to play between 4.3 and 5.0 then this is a no-brainer. If you would otherwise have unsubscribed after finishing Cata and the start of Pandaria you are taking a bit of a gamble on release dates.

I've played WoW on and off for a while and there are a lot of things (even in WotLK) that I think Blizzard did right. But Pandaria is definitely not for me, so I'm not tempted by this. If instead it gave you access to the D3 beta though, I'd go for without a doubt.
 
As much as I used to really love playing WoW (yes I was addicted for many many years).

I can't bring myself to go back to it now, Diablo 3 will have to be a seperate purchase if I have money by then, good deal if you're not going near SWTOR, unfrotunately, I'm getting TOR :D.
 
If they offer this deal now, I would guess it means 1 of 2 things:

1 - the expansion will come out about halfway through, if not a little later. That way if you have an activbe sub, you might as well buy the expansion - raising its sales figures...

2 - the expansion comes after the sub finishes, therefor they have kept you for a year paying, and you then have to pay for more for the expansion and monthly subs...

Interesting... But how much would I play for £6 a month?
 
Patch 4.3 is due in ~1month, that will last for ~6months which means by the end of this expansion and release of the next ill still have 5 months on the account and that to me is bad news. I've been playing at various levels since a week before the TBC release and honestly.. im out

completed everything before fel myst in tbc (need moar priests kk!)
cleaned up in wrath, everybodies dead dave.. they're all dead dave
current expansion the guild is 'working' on rag heroic, and by that i mean its been our next fight for ~1month but we havent actually had enough ppl care to try it heroic

I watched some of the blizzcon footage via ustream and while some of the changes are interesting, looking forward all i really see is more of the same and im done with it

If you buy into this, it starts counting 12 months from the day you confirm it, so if you have already paid 5months of game time, those will count towards it and you can pay with game time cards and thats really the only way id do it, if i could buy the next 12 months of game time with gold, which i was doing for 20k/2months but my contact for this has a) a huge stash of gold now and b) gone casual

The only thing in it that really appeals is guaranteed beta access, D3 i will wait until it drops to £20 in a bargain bin or on a steam deal, Id love a legit way of makin sure i get into the beta (i got caught up in the hassle here with the wrath beta and couldnt even copy my characters to PTR until i migrated my wow/sc2 accounts to a new b.net account), however im not up for paying for months of gaming that im right now about 99% sure i wont want to play in
 
blizzard games will never be on steam so might be waiting a while for that :P

the new leveling is nice - makes a change from teh same old same old for teh last few years - trying a dwarf shaman in eastern kingdoms and its fun again...

can send you a scroll of resurection if you want to see the new stuff for a week
