hi all this is my first post so please go easy on me.
im going to either buy or build a new computer in the next few weeks just for playing wow on, i have have about £3000 spend, and i was thinking what would you lot would spend your money on, i thought mutli-monitors would be nice. any tips you have would be nice. i basicly just want to be able to run cata on max, and i know thats hard to say as they have not let the specs out yet. but in willing over power the system.

thanks in advance Greg

Hi there, welcome to the OCUK forums :)

WOW, that's a big budget. I just want to make sure that you are aware than you can get a machine which will run WoW at top quality for MUCH less than that. For example, even a £1000 budget (which is a reasonably big budget for a gaming PC) would buy you an i7 system with a good graphics card and an a 24in monitor.

Are you certain you want to dedicate so much money to your computer?

£400 spare :)

As I mentioned, this is a mad budget - but this is what I would buy if I had £3000 and wanted a WoW gaming monster:

2987i7.png

I went for the GTX 480 zotac card as Nvidia cards seem to perform rather well in WoW (at least according to benchmarks) and the huge 1.5GB video memory should help when playing games at the huge resolution used by the Dell U2711 monitor (here is a review of the monitor).

The case is one I have had the pleasure to work with. It is very understated, quiet and solidly built. With those extra fans installed you should have a cool and quiet system.

and only over the top at the moment, i also like to play games like MW2, but only do it on my ps3 at the moment as my laptop cannot handle it.

If you've got that kinda money to blow i'd consider getting a G19 :D

You and your G19's :p

I know this isn't what you asked for, but you could easily get a good rig for £1500-2000, then blow the rest on a holiday, a car, an iPhone, beer etc etc.

WoW build you could easily go for an overclocked i3 bundle since WoW doesn't use 4 cores that much. That and a half decent grx card, I guess... But really no need to spend 3,000 notes! :O

i run wow max settings on a 22inch widescreen and a sapphire 4730 with an AMD 64x 2 Dual core and 4gb ram. in max settings(shadows turned off). about a constant 60fps. but occasionaly goes down to about 35 but isnt noticable. whole tower including case and power supply costed me about 350 lol. 3k is over the top :P
