WoW Morals

Just tell him to buy them if he wants them that bad :p

If it were in EVE you'd get praise from all round.
if it was EVE it wouldn't have been an issue. as theres no instancing. or shards. or any of that WOW crap.

Seriously how is that BS? a guy can roll need for 4 swords purely because he's the only sword user in the group, its obvious he wont use all 4 and 3 will be on the AH.

Thats what I'm saying - its total BS for him to roll need on swords purely because he *can* use it, he should only roll need if he *will* use it.

Ok another case i've found myself in...i had a dagger wielding shaman, and was told that i couldn't roll for a dagger because a rogue in the group would be able to make more use of it, so i let them have it.

Again total BS. Its a pick-up group (PUG) - you're under no-obligation to get gear for other people, you're there for yourself same as everyone else, so if you can and will use the dagger roll need for it. Obviously if the rogue is in the same guild as me and its a "rogue dagger" then I'd pass.

I swear instance looting is done so badly in WoW, i never know what to do.

Agree. The problem isn't the looting though, its the retards who play WoW and the crazy systems they think up and think everyone else should follow. Just find yourself a decent guild fella.

Not so easy to find a good guild when you're a casual player :(

No advice on your moral dilemma.

The situation reads the same as recipes. People like to see you learn it there and then if you roll need.

Don't see the difficulty of organising your bags and being able to locate that session’s loot quickly to equip it before continuing. As if it's an upgrade then it’s going to increase you chances of success, so it makes sense that you start taking advantage of it straight away. That way you'll avoid ithis situation reoccurring again in the future.

I've never played the game but what I don't understand is, once you had crafted a better pair why you didn't give them to him, or at least offer first refusal on a sale?

I guess it partly depends on the timescales of things, the way it reads is that without hours of winning the gloves you had them up for sale, which definitely could seem suspect.

It's unfortunate timing that you could craft something better straight away but people tend to remember these types of incedent, so you've probably headed off potential problems of getting a bad rep. It's a bit of a kangaroo court in wow with ninja accusations as most are just mis-understandings or mis-clicks.

Now if you'd been smart you could have made an oddly named bank alt and sold the item with that character, not that i'd encourage such behavoiur mind you. ;) ;)

Making an alt and selling it via that can save a lot of hassle.

I was onced group with a warrior in Un'goro when a glowing brightwood staff dropped. As we couldn't equip it, I said both greed on it. The warrior then claims he needs it for his alt so he asked if he could please roll need on it. I obviously told him to FO. I wait for him to roll and notice he rolls need thus I click need. I win it and he starts bitching about me being a ninja. Even though he has branded me a ninja, he asks to buy it off me "cheaply". I tell him no straight off but then I start getting whispers from his friends. I eventually just said I was keeping it for my alt and sold it via the AH on an alt. I saved myself hassle and ultimately the outcome was the same; I got my epic mount :D

Things like this happen. All part of the learning curve of instances I guess m8. As for me, when it happens I get a bit angry that someone ninja'd but if they apologize and whatever I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The fang gloves dropped and both of us selected need, i did so because my druid can wear them and they were better than my current gloves

So then why didn't you equip them there and then?

Why didn't you send him the gloves free when you realised you could make better and hadn't already equipped them?

TBH you just sound one of the many selfish greedy ****s that play wow, should fit right in.

I would've offered the guy who wanted the gloves first bid on them before putting them in the auction house. Also, you have another pair from the AH so this guy is probably thinking it's unfair you've got two sets.

I don't think you were wrong to roll need on the gloves though as you didn't know your leatherworking could make better ones. Just events make it look very dodgy to the other guy with the fact you're selling two sets at high prices.

Generally I roll greed on items that I can't use or are lower quality to the ones I have. Need for stuff that, well, I need. :)

i think its similar system for Vanguard. But the thing is do you mean "i need" for stuff your character needs or one of your other theoretical 8 characters needs?

druids heal, end of.

Druid's tank better than Warrior's at lvl 70 from my experiences and as a Priest I find them a lot easier to heal.

As for the OP, if you knew he needed then and realised you didn't why didn't you just mail them to him, that would have been a nice thing to do.

No offence mate but i've answered that question 3 times already, if you're not going to read the whole thread through then don't post, especially if you're going to start throwing ****s about, TBH you just sound one of the many flamers who post first and think later.

Lets try again, i didn't equip them because i go through my bags once i'm out the instance, it may not be a very good thing to do but i don't play instances very much and was concentrating on my job rather than equiping items.

My mistake was not sending him them afterwards, which i have since remedied by doing so, hardly worth your aggresive response.

fair enough that you sent them to him, but seriously its a sub-level 20 instance. both of you will get better in less than 6 levels no doubt. when its endgame and youre still doing it, then i'd let you off for having a guilty conscience.

No, but there would have been 5 people waiting for a mission item to respawn, and me missing out three times, and eventually getting annoyed and shooting up some frigates, then being accused of being a noob-basher, and chased all over the place by someone in a cruiser :)
