How do you guys control your healing between the character following and the main? I want to have both characters doing the lightning bolts and earth totems, then have a macro for each character that will cast a healing spell when the other is below 75% health.
You can't have any sort of intelligent healing, they removed decision type making in macros back in vanilla WoW when the Decurisve addon was far too 'intelligent' for their liking (back then you just spammed the assigned key and decursive would select who to decurse with which decursing type spell you had access to, it was very mindless).
I run 5 elemental shammies (with a /focus setup) so I don't have a dedicated resto-healer.
For them, I use 3 sets of heal macros.
1. Each shammy casts chain heal on a.n.other shammy, which bounces around to another 2 targets after that and everyone ends up on full life usually. Yep, can waste healing power and lower DPS for that few seconds but doesn't require much thought.
2. Each shammy casts healing wave on themselves, which is usually my post-combat heal-up action.
3. Each shammy casts chain heal on my current main characters target or, if that target is an enemy, casts on the main char. This is the most used healing macro as my main char will usually have the aggro (he has the best gear, so ahead on spell damage, and his spells hit slightly ahead of the other 4 chars). With this macro I don't have to change targets, everyone just heals the main and then returns to DPSing.
With 2 shammies you could go for something simple like:
Macro A - they both heal char A
Macro B - they both heal char B
Macro C - A heals B, B heals A (that way if A is being bashed, interrupting his casting, he gets a heal from B ASAP).
or even simpler:
Macro A - char B heals char A
Macro B - char A heals char B
that way A continues to DPS whilst B heals him and vice versa.
If they both need a heal, hit both heal macros.
If you need heals in a hurry, use /stopmacro as the first command in the heal macro so you interrupt your current spell to start healing.
