After hearing lots of people talk about it, i downloaded the 10 day trial yesterday. To be honest i'm stuggling a bit, i've not played a game like this before and i don't really know which kind of character to choose or what i'm meant to be doing. Are there any guides out there for total newbies ?

Pick a character that you like the look of , theyre all good.

Walk forwards until you see a person with an exclamation mark above their head, this person can give you a quest...... 1 year later, finish all quests and raid.

Regarding Characters I'd say a Paladin is a good choice for a new player to this type of game. For guides and tips you can't beat the official WOW forums and the Official WOW europe site covers all the basics needed to get you on your way.

Be warned, thats the biggest lie ever. The official forums are only full of mid-skill players who think they know best and "hate every other class but their own" , dont expect any kind of help from that place.

The class that you choose to play is entirely down to the style of play that appeals to you the most. Would you prefer a caster type that is dishing out damage from afar using various spells as a Mage or Warlock, would you rather be right in the action with a melee class such as a Rogue or Warrior, are you more of a support and healing type? If so then go with a healer of hybrid class like the Priest, Druid, Paladin or Shaman.

I have a character of every class and to be honest they are all pretty good at different things.

Yep, Paladins are good because they will bore you so fast you'll quit the game and save yourself. Hunter is the best tbh.

Hunter can be just as boring as Paladin IMO. I mean, all you have to do is send your pet at a target then auto shoot... You dont even have to use skills other than auto shoot. If you want to be the most annoying class in PvP then choose hunter, though :P

Hunter are good for soloing and are probably the most fun to level, but they are the most overplayed class (night elf hunter 'legolas' syndrome) and are as dull as anything at end game and it could be argued they serve the least purpose also.

I agree it would be a good starter class though to get a feel for the game.

I would suggest Druid. For me they are the most fun class to level and they have zero downtime so you level faster than most other classes. In the right hands a skilled player can be some serious competition in PvP, too.

Probably best to make a whole bunch of characters, play around with them for a few lvl's then picked your favourite :p

I'm on the Bronzebeard server if you want any help, as long as your not an Alliance member...

most classes are naff till lvl 40+ imo.

Hunter/Rogue, I had a majorly epic'd 60 of each, best classes in game.

I'm thinking of reactivating my account for a few months but as I'ce sold the game to someone else can I download the free trial then pay for a months subscription and start playing my old account again, or will it tell me my old cd key is in use or something?
