Wow! Our electricity bill is now £1000/yr!

When I lived with an American in a 3 bedroom flat in Edinburgh the bill for the first quarter was a MASSIVE £437. I couldn't believe it, but he used to have a stupid Halogen heater on, some massive transformer to power his fairy lights that were always on, he'd always leave lights on, always have his music at high power with about 8 cheap speakers that would draw lots of power.

ANYWAY, so £1000 a year isn't that much, especially since I'm talking about a couple of years ago and I think electricity has gone up since then.

That's insane 0_o

We pay £130 / quarter divided by 3 of us for electricity (We send meter readings when we get each bill to make sure we pay the right amount and not the overestimate they usually send us.) We make no efforts to reduce our usage and have several computers on most of the day amongst the usual stuff. I can't believe people are near £1000 a year?!

LOL! watt meter - I've just ordered one :)

But the question is, are gas/electricity prices likely to fall? If so I won't go on their fixed rate!

considering that they've been steadily rising for the past 10 years, i think that it's unlikely they're going to fall any time soon.
