WOW Post your UI and Character :)

It just doesn't work does it?

I've been told by a lot of people that if you're a good player you don't need anything above the standard UI.

Try raid healing and then say that :).
Hahah, indeed, I've seen it a few times over the years when people apply and you look at their UI and it's bog standard one and you ask "you ok at healing with the standard UI?" "yeah no problem, I'm pro".

They always fail their trial. They don't even come anywhere close to the required standard.

As a raid healer, most defintely not.

Doesn't one of the healers in Paragon basically use Standard UI & Grid/Clique? I personally don't think any addons are needed, I raided up until Mimiron in Ulduar as part of a 10m strict guild before installing boss mods or any other UI mods :P

Seriously considering going back to standard UI and DXE and perhaps grid because I heal every now and again.

As a healer you don't need anything else. To use that as an argument that you don't need mods for raiding doesn't hold much weight.

Wasn't arguing that you don't need mods for raiding at all, it's not really an argument because it's not exactly difficult to raid a lot of bosses without addons at the moment. Most if not all bosses have speeches, movements indicators etc to show when stuffs about to happen.

Healings probably the hardest to do without some sort of raid frames, but again pre-HM and perhaps later bosses in ICC25 it can be done quite easily with absolutely no addons because the default UI gives you everything thats 'needed'. The only real thing that needs to be improved on is the UFs, you need to be able to do mouse-over easier and to have a better debuff-tracking without having add-ons.

In my honest opinion, it holds more weight if you can raid with exceptional situational awareness within an encounter actually using your head in the fight rather than relying on watching DBM/DXE/BW timers then you can do what the majority of people can't do these days, this is why i'm exceptionally glad that AVR is being broken by Blizzard in 3.5 as it took boss-mods about 20 steps further.
