WOw second character :P

i'm sure with the right gear a kitty druid can do very good dps. although not being a raider anymore i've no idea if they would get the chance to dps in a raid ?

certainly you could dps in a 5 man - although more often than not a class with cc would probably be wanted?

you will certainly find you are wanted mainly to tank or OT. or ofc heal. i regulalry see requests in LFG that want a tank to complete a group ask for well over 30mins.....

kitty is great for levelling and grinding as you can take down mobs so quickly - ie its fun atm grinding in Netherwing - little downtime just go from mob to mob and watch them die quickly.

Yeah, a kitty druid might have a place in a "dream team" melee group with a shammy and some rogues because of their 5% crit talent and they are insane grinding machines, love my druid but for end game dps i never really think feral druid

Demo is not awful. At low level improved voidwalker helps tonnes with levelling, and later on having a felguard around is like having two extra DoTs (regular melee and cleave) that don't even cost you any mana or casting time. Demonic knowledge, soul link, master demonologist and even demonic aegis (with fel armor) are all invaluable.

Yes it is. It's dull as anything and you can't actually do any damage without a pet at all. It's not so bad at 70, because you can get some points into affliction or destruction, but if all of your points are in demo, your survivability drops to 0 without a pet.

I play a Level 39 Night Elf hunter and at the moment twinking it out. But kinda tempted to go the 49 for the mount you get and mail profficieny. It's on a RP-PVP server which is bunch of fun :D

If you go Warrior expect to be forced to switch to tanking more than your willing too.

This. Although contrary to popular belief it doesn't require a complete respec. I can quite happily tank anything up to Prince as Arms/Fury (31/30/0) with a simple gear change. Warrior DPS doesn't have a lot of variety though.

If you want variety I'd say jump on the Warlock bandwagon.

It is possible to tank and not be protection but you make it harder for yourself by building less threat in a short time and taking more dmg.

Not just for yourself, it's a lot worse for healers too. I really hate healing heroics or kara when the tank isn't prot because it totally drains mana and in some cases it's just a constant heal spam, which is boring.

Is there any good PVE specs for a Rogue? Need a decent one for soloing really and ill respec for more end-game stuff if i get to that stage. I have heard that 18/43/0 is pretty popular for PVE i think?

Yes - make sure you get Relentless Strikes as your most important point in Assassination and pick up all the combat talents that increase dps, ignoring the ones that increase survivability (such as the talents to increase parry chance). As a Rogue you shouldn't be getting hit in PvE, except in limited circumstances in 5 mans.

Mutilate is a very interesting PvE talent and is getting a +15% crit chance buff in 2.4. Unfortunately it's not clear if this will take it past deep combat in dps, but it certainly has more in depth and on the fly dps cycles than the 'spam SS and use SnD' of combat.

Well, In spite of what you said OP, I have only SERIOUSLY played Shaman and Hunter so can only comment on those. Shaman was during the year of retail release so don't know if it has changed dramatically. I liked the totem jugggling, mana management, secondary healer role (9 hours in Maraudon once as the ONLY healer on the team), secondary damage dealer. Was OK for soloing too then. Since christmas a hunter got to lvl 62 now. Excellent soloing class. Love the whole pet thing. He tanks very solidly for me. With feign death at lvl 30 as well (is it?) you are a death dealing machine with a good chance of not dying when that little green bar gets awfully short :)

This is one of the biggest misconceptions of non-prot warrior's. You can quite happily tank anything up to Prince as arms / fury, but I can almost 100% guarantee that you will be annoying your healers to no end. The difference for me as a Priest is leaps and bounds between healing a prot and non-prot spec warrior. Keeping them alive is really tough and you end up having a very hard time throughout the instance, and then if you do end up dying and the raid wipes, ultimately it's the healer's fault when in actual fact, it's the lack of talents in your build that caused the wipe.

Indeed, I have quite a set pattern that seems to get me through most battles, including fighting off 3 or 4 mobs a couple of levels higher than me. I'm level 63 and last night took on 3 lvl 65 giants with no problem.

I send in the fellguard and start to cast immolate at the same time. I try and time it so the minion hits the mob with intercept just before immolate hits it then I've almost finished casting shadowbolt before the stun wears off and it's even begun to respond. I then life tap, drain health and if I've got Soul Link and Fel Armor on the mob generally has 1-3% health left. I then either soul drain if I need shards or wand it to death. I use health funnel if the demon needs healing. If I tag several mobs by mistake I'll make sure the demon tags them all and do the same thing one at a time on them, health funnelling if the pet needs it.

I only really die if either the demon is taking more damage per second than health funnel gives. Or I tag so many that I run out of health and burn my potions and healthstone keeping the pet alive with health funnel / life tapping.

If my demon does die and my health is good enough for me to take the time to get the demon to retag them all, fel domination means I get him back up in a fraction of a second (0.5 second cast for a summon with fel domination + master summoner).

All in all, it's a fantastic way to level.

My build - The single point in Cataclysm was me misclicking and not wanting to spend the 15g it would cost to respec. :(

A bit off topic but can Paladins ever be good at PvP? Are they fun to play? I'm coming back to WoW and fancy playing one as I've tried pretty much all the other classes. Its either a Paladin or a Warrior but I don't like how gear dependent Warriors are.

But theres no difference at all in an arms warrior tanking over a protection warrior (with the same gear), aside from the prot warrior having more threat, their damage mitigation is the same aside from an extra shield block which is handy but only needed for some bosses (prince only) at a kara/heroic level

Depends. The biggest problem in PVP that I've faced is the lack of ranged powers and the inadequate movement-impairing / hold / stun / sleep defenses. Basically if you come up against a rogue, you're probably going to get perma-stunned while they slowly pinch you to death. If you come across a magic user they're going to hold you and take you out at their leisure from afar because you have no ranged powers and so on and so on.

You get one power to free yourself from movement impairing abilities (which also has a long-ish cooldown) but would need to rely on the right trinket to remove the other stuff. There are things you can do to overcome these issues (esp as holy-spec) but familiarity with the paladins bloated talent tree is an absolute must, as is the ability to juggle a large number of those abilities under-fire, otherwise PvP is frustrating as hell for a paladin.

i'd aim for something like this if you're set on demonology/felguard spec,

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info...000052030133250103501351505000010000000000000

possibly swap 1 or 2 points out of mana feed into demonic resilience, never used felguard much but i remember it running out of mana quite fast so i left the 3 points there.
dont you hate not having instant corruption? 0o thats the first talent i get on my warlocks (and i've got 2 at lvl 70)
