WOW STARTER

That's rubbish! For a lot of people, the game is all about leveling and ends at 70. I have 5 level 70s and a handful of other low level alts because I much prefer leveling to raiding. The game is what you make it.

How long did it take for you to get 70? In Real Life time? Under a month? Use any guides?

Agreed, I enjoy lvling characters and that alone can be game enough for most people, not everyone needs to stay up all night and raid to call it a game.

I hate hate hate leveling.

I have 3 70s. Hated every secound of it. Hating leveling my druid, shaman and palla atm, thats why they are all stuck around lvl 40..

What my comment should have been more worded like. If you don't like leveling, there is a whole new side to it after leveling that your prob prefer more :)

Do not install that game, you will lose all health, become a pale bedroom dweller and your friends will grow to hate you over time :(

I'd recommend rolling a Tauren Druid if i was starting off - Druids have great flexibility being able to tank, heal and DPS. At the moment Druid healers are in great demand for PvP teams as they can be almost unkillable, but Druid tanks are also excellent - with one character you can try out different specs to see what you prefer doing.

Only problem with Druids is that they are by far the most frustrating to level 1-20 (my main is a Druid), got one to 51 then restarted as Horde to 70, it was horrible.

Have always been curious about WoW and MMO's, but have always been put off by the amount of time required by the games. And the monthly subscriptions. Guess I am put off by WoW's dated graphics. And I guess I am slightly intimidated by how seriously people take it all.

The temptation is always there though. Perhaps it is time for me to give it a go. At least then I can say I tried it. I must be in a very small percentage of people who haven't :)

Well it used to require time, not really anymore.

Also nothing wrong with picking NE, you'll find Shadowmeld VERY useful on a PvP server.

What are Age of Conan and Guild Wars like in comoarison to WoW? Which is the more exciting? Are any of them story driven to some degree? Which is the most easy to get to grips with?

Kinda feel like amhijacking the thread now, so apologies to the OP.

Bad, not going to elaborate but WoW trounces Conan.

GW is decent, it has no fees and is very story driven. WoW and GW are both newbie friendly

It probably depends mostly on what kind setting and gameplay you want from the MMO. GW, WoW and AoC (not so sure on the last admittedly) all offer very different gameplay experiences.

AoC would have been amazing, but some fundamental design flaws held it back

GW isnt the same as WoW, atleast from what i played. GW seemed a lot more empty with not so much to do. or atleast i couldnt find it. where as wow really only begins when you reach max level.
