ive got the 5 cd's i installed them last night and i started the first patch last night..that took like 12 hours being extremly slow and now i have to do a 2nd patch which wont even start downloading...and ive got to do 5 patches in total...anyone know of a site where you can download all the patches? im with virgin media and my connection is like 10mbps+ download and like 1mbps upload
the pc is brand new...one of OCUK's pre-built systems. ive tried everything i can think of...tcp ports etc.
can anyone shed some light on this issue?
the patches are like 500mb ea

its the 1.2 to 2.01 patch...and im getting like 1.6-2 mbps on the DL...its at 85% now

i just typed the patch name into google...aparently a lot of people are getting this problem

current game version is 2.4.* so you got a bit to go. Luckliy 2.0 i think was a huge patch as it implemented a lot of stuff just before the expansion was released.

the section at the bottom of the page references to the wow torrent extractor which will allow you to take the blizzard patch files and extract the .torrent files for use with your own torrent application (the blizzard one throttles your upload severely)

"The actual Blizzard Downloader that is distributed on the patching day does not save its torrent file. You will need a tool like WoW Torrent Extract to extract a .torrent file from the downloader. Alternatively, you can wait for a link on this page."

1. Install WoW
2. Install TBC (or the full 2.0.1 patch if you didn't buy the expansion)
3. Install the full 2.4 patch

And you're left with 2 incremental patches totaling 20mb (2.4.1 and 2.4.2).

Personally, I use the fileplanet mirrors - very quick (esp if you have an account).

Apart from the incremental patches, is this the only file I need to download after installing the 9 WoW / BC cds?

I think so. That should take you from the version on the CDs up to 2.4, which is 2 'incremental' patches behind current.

Quick question (didn't think it deserved a whole new thread). If you add a retail key to a trial account, do you still get the days left on the trial account as well?
