im thinking of buying xp

think is its an upgrade. how will this be installed? i already have xp installed but i need to format my HDD but have lost the disk. so if i install this upgrade over the top will it act like a reformat? or is it an os in its own that i can install after a format? or do i need to buy a normal xp disk? thanks

im pretty sure that would count as a competitor and you should remove that link

but to be more helpful, if you do want to format you are better getting a full version.

an upgrade version will search your HD to find a previous version before it installs.

There are ways around this though, if you know where to look, and I don't think its against the terms either. That said, I'm basing this on experience with Vista upgrade media and unsure if it will work the same with XP.

And yeah, remove the comptetitor link.
 
sorry. fixed. i though a link would be helpful to see what im on about. so to clarify if i need to format i shouldnt buy that
