Wrath of Man - Jason Statham

I really like Statham you know what your getting when you watch his films. This one looks a bit more serious and less along the lines of the mechanic or transporter. And yeh give it a rest with the derailing people download films get over it.

It's definitely on the more serious tone for sure, some places it's funny when it shouldn't be (but it really should be) which I quite liked.

Is Scam's real name Roy Slater?

:cry::cry:

Not to sound overly dramatic.. but sorry for trying to protect my livelihood. It's been an awful year for the film industry. I've seen my office decimated by redundancies, some of my best friends at work are now jobless. Freelancers haven't worked for a year and not been eligible for support. This isn't a tiny violin moment, because clearly others have had it a lot harder but again I always thought this forum was fairly sensible with not allowing discussion of piracy/illegal downloads. I could post threads about the film's I've seen before release but I won't because (a) it's not great for forum discussions when no one else has seen them and (b) I'd soon get fired..

This is a UK-based forum. It's not on UK streaming services nor is it out in the cinema until 23 July.

Am I derailing the thread enough now? :)

To watch everything that you wanted, you'd probably end up with subscription services to Sky, Disney, Netflix, Amazon etc. Also the cost of taking your family to the cinema is north of £50.

Sorry, but **** that.

I pay for Sky, Amazon, TV licence, so i'm not saying i will never pay, but until a sensible solution is forthcoming (and i don't know what the actual answer is!) then i'll keep sailing the seas.

I also want to go on holiday 5 times a year and eat in expensive restaurants every weekend. I'd also like to go to the Formula 1 every weekend. Didn't you hear? Nice things in life cost money. I don't know why people think they are entitled to be able to watch every single piece of filmed entertainment cheaply or for free

It's irrelevant where they are located, or how they have watched it. This thread is a discussion based on the new film from Guy Ritchie, nothing else.
Awesome. I think it looks great and I'll be sure to give it a whirl when it comes out.

Fair enough buddy, everyone's entitled to their own viewpoint.

I'm certainly not justifying piracy, but unfortunately 'shy bairns get nowt' in this world.

Studios have access to way more data than you do. Don't you think it's already within their interest to make the most money possible? So why, when they could release day-and-date everywhere don't you think they are doing it?

Because as you said their only interest is to make the most money possible. If the movie does well on domestic market and it's a proven hit they will hold entire region hostage and demand more money before selling distribution rights internationally. That market is over. It should be over for at least two decades. But now it's a rotting zombie of a business model. I love movies and I have subscriptions to just about everything incl. HBO, Cinemax, several satellite packages, probably all major players except Hulu. Around March, in the peak of our lockdown most of the streaming services started banning VPN networks to specifically cut off pan-european or cross continental viewing. Well, ef that - that's just pure spite and villainy - talk about aiming shotgun at own feet. I hope movie distribution and cinema model as we know it doesn't come back from this, and if they don't learn to release everything everywhere in the same time I hope Netflix, Amazon and pirates finish them off promptly afterwards. I pay hundreds of pounds for all this **** and all I get is grief, blackouts and regional blocking and five reminders about copyrights before every BluRay video. Well, I'm tired. Let them burn.

A bit poo poo. Reminded me of loads of similar movies except why he was doing what he was doing was shoved in the middle of the film instead of the start, how original. Plenty of time was devoted to the bad guys too, it didn't feel like a Statham movie. 5/10

I do too... but Dungeon Siege movie was pretty dire.... But most Statham stuff is like Arnie.. does what you expect

Thats an insult to Arnie to be honest. Dont think any of the "top" Statham films hold a candle to any of the "top" Arnie films. :p

Each to their own... I personally loved The Transporter for all its flaws... I like Arnie too but I never considered him "great" in any movie except maybe True Lies.. (which is awesome!) (and silly!")

Similar thoughts from me, didn't really feel like a statham film but it passed some time.

Ah well, Transporter is probably his best movie, there are a couple of others that are ok. :p But then Commando, Predator, Conan(), Terminator 1 and 2, Running Man, Total Recall.....granted they are dated now but > the majority of Statham stuff. :)

There is one role I wished he played but never did. Agent 47. Such a pity.

Well he's better than most and we enjoy most of his movies...Hobbs and Shaw was dire I had to turn it off.
He caters to the men wanting a fun action flick so he earns his wage.

I feel like this film wasted my time :( Much preferred Nobody due to knowing what I was getting, where as this just failed to live up to any expectation.

Also, as on the topic of Stratham films... anybody watch The One? I was a teenager when I saw it, but it put me off Stratham for ages, until Expendables...
