write protected USB

hi i am trying to format my kinsigton data traveler. but whenever i try to format it. its showing me write protected error. :mad:

any HELP

check to make sure there is no switch or slider on the side to write protect it if not you could try

Click > Start > RUN > type "CMD" Then
Type "CHKDSK" and type the drive letter of your USB drive and "/F".
Example: chkdsk Q: /F > Enter (Q: being the drive letter)

not sure if tey will work just an idea for you

Right click on the drive and select properties, check to see if certain permissions have been denied.

i tried it already and i get an error "windows cant run disk check because its write protected"

i am not getting these options only General, Tools, Hardware, Sharing and customize tabs are available

possible fault with the pen the other thing you could try is go to disk management and try deleting the partition altogether thats the only other way i think

reading on google there is quite a lot of this with kingston sticks

ya i know. there is trouble alright. i even tried the disk management no luck
