Wrong gpu sent!

It's good he got to keep the card,.. happy about that.

I'm just worried about the warranty status, he doesn't have a receipt with it on...

Lol, the CC thing was just a threat I reckon, there was never any intention to take that money because it would only lead to a backside-violating from the CC company when he reports it as fraudulent, and a horrific amount of bad press.

Good result, but i'm eager to know who they are so that I can avoid them in future. It wasn't the purple shirts was it? Sounds like something they'd pull.

£40 for around 5-10 minutes work. Wow, just wow.

Doesn't really surprise me, at the end of the day if you are running a business then you are going to charge not only for labour but also need to cover running costs for the shop and also liability insurance etc. Yes changing a card and installing drivers may only take 10mins but you can never be sure what you might find inside a case, there could be drives blocking the card from fitting (especially with high end GPUs like this that might be quite long), the PSU might be dodgy etc etc.

If I was running a business I'd probably be wanting a minimum of £30 for any internal hardware change.

Can't believe I have only now seen this thread. Just purchased from said site, MSI 680 on wed. It didn't despatch yesterday so I emailed them to ask if anythings wrong. I should mention that the card was in stock at the time of ordering, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Anyway they have now told me the card has been unexpectedly delayed. I work in a warehouse as picker/packer, what kind of company adds to thier stock levels before receiving the actual items.

So I have asked to cancel and be refunded, can they refuse?

Sorry for hi-jacking thread, but its about same company

This tbh.

The innocent buyer should not have to go into his own pocket to remedy the error of the shop.

Spot on.

Shame about your friend getting ripped off on the card, I have a mate of mine who lives miles away, he has the same problem and it makes me sick how many people try to take advantage of those who are not in a position to defend themselves - he has a local "friend" who when he did quick upgrade of swapping his graphics card around - upgrading to a 590, helped himself to the old card(480) and some headphones for the work put in (2 minutes worth!)

Yeah just got email saying they have cancelled and refunded me, just bought one from ocuk instead. Sorted

You had a lucky escape, god help you if anything went wrong with your card!

Do a scan on google for scammy companies and their name is sure to crop up.

No, that's not what he is saying at all? where do you get that from?

he is saying that if you receive the wrong item, you have the RIGHT to return / reject if under DSR, nowhere is he saying you should make the delivery man wait while you check the contents

I saw "reject the item" which in my head is reject it at the time of delivery.

Nevermind.
