Wrong way down the motorway

Almost got taken out yesterday by some Polish dude with no idea whatsoever of how to go around a roundabout.

Theres also an indian guy who lives nearby in an old Escort who is plain scary, pulling out of junctions or coming round corners he's always drifting onto the wrong side of the road, and i watched in amazment yesterday as he took off from by my house in what must have been fourth gear, riding the clutch off into the distance.

I think people on foreign licences really do need to prove that they are able to drive to a reasonable standard in this country before being allowed out.

:)

He had a panic attack and drove the wrong way down the road. People do really really silly things when they're scared, but driving down the wrong wide of the motorway is just incredible! When my mum was lost in Italy she pulled out of a junction and started to head down the left side of the road (fairly busy it was too). That's the only time I've really had to shout at her about her driving :p She honestly didn't realise what was going on until I had shouted about 3 times! Ah well, at least in Italy no one noticed.

What a nobend. I dont feel sorry for him one bit. If he drives on our roads then he should damn well know the highway code...idiot! He could have killed lots of people.
Considering the majority of British drivers haven't got a clue about car control, least of all the contents of the highway code... how do you expect some guy from Yemen to understand?

Accidents happen.

Agreed. Especially those from backward countries like Yemen, India or Poland as mentioned in this thread.

I think the majority of British drivers would notice if they were driving the wrong way down a motorway. I know some confused drivers have (god knows how) gone the wrong way up a motorway exit. But to do a fricking U-turn... that is something else entirely.

I remember reading about this in the paper when it happened. If I was so scared of going on the m/way, I would have an experienced passenger with me..
