WTF is it with my Cat?

Akin to the food plan, has he got a little "house" or basket? If so, try moving that closer to the door then eventually outside.

Use it in combo with the food, I reckon that should do it. Little sanctuary for him.

It's the other way round with my cat, she's out more often than not... and in the ****** neighbour's house at the end of our row where she gets fed all sorts of nasties and cat no-nos. Seriously cheeses me off (yep that included). :(

He knocks on the window with his paw, it really starts to get annoying when you work nights - as I do - and are trying to get some kip! :D

Awww, in my old house there was rooflights, our kitties used to sit on them in the middle of the night, and you'd wake up to the noise of kitty paws slowly sliding down the glass. :D

People with useful advise are useful. Most of their advice is good.

With regards to the "mieowing and rubbing his head against you until you move his food in"... you didn't wait long enough :D Leave the food outside with the door open. When he gets hungry enough, he will go outside.

Don't lock him out beacuse he will get frightened and scared as he will not be able to get in, which will make him more reluctant to go outside the next time, in case he again cant get back in.

Do the food thing, as well as tempting him outside with a piece of string. Cats love string.

(also, one of our cats only drinks from the tap too :D )

When my cat is out in our back garden, he'll meow and scratch at the door until we let him in, then he'll walk straight through the house and sit at the front door waiting to be let out again. It would take him an extra 30 seconds to just walk round the side of the house...

It's annoying and yet highly amusing at the same time :D

Slightly off topic but thought I'd share, hehe

Our cat only drinks from the tap, unless he's in all day then he has to use the bowl :p

We started by getting him a leash when he was a kitten and walking him round with it on, then it got to carrying him around the garden, then eventually he decided he wanted to go out alone... still doesn't like the dark though, and he can tell the time :D

My cat dips his paw i nwater or runs to a sink or toilet if he is thirsty....if we get a small silver bowl and fill it with water he guzzles the whole thing down. Your cat may well just be very dehydrated.

A lot of cats are picky of where they drink from. They generally prefer small silver bowls like dogs.....try different thing to give him water in.....also rmeebr that if they arent drinking the water you have given them then unless there is a puddle near by the only water they are getting is the jelly in their meat food :\

My two are the exact opposite. Every time someone goes to open an outside door they both come booling straight in under the impression they'll be let out. If I don't actually let them out all I get is a barrage of verbal abuse from them.

weve got 2 new cats that just wont leave the garden at all.sometimes sleep out there instead of in the house but wont leave it. for ages we thought that maybe they cant jump onto the fence but ive seen one of them walking along top of fence since then :/

they also keep every other cat out the garden. anyone comes near and they chase them straight away. well upto the fence...

Carry him outin your arms, sit down on the grass whilst still cuddling/stroking it, and then gradually let him "free"?
