Wtf is this?

Never seen that before is this some kinda joke or a poorly refurbished PSU?

Quite. Of all the pictures I could find none of them have this (not that I could find many pictures). It got a near perfect review from jonnyguru, so it's not like its a cheap PSU (at least, it wasn't to start with).

Where did it come from?

rainforest shop

I think we will contact OCZ and find out if its real

thanks for the replies guys

That looks like a right afterthought, I'd be returning that myself.

We have removed the original sleeving that came on the cables... the PSU itself has not been opened or modified in any way. Do you think they would accept a return with some of the cables modified?

+1 for some pre braided cables, they really help to set a system off. I went from this.

To this with a few pre braided cables.

when I asked a guy at yoyotech about this he said the pre-braided cables can be used as extensions but cannot replace the originals?

That sounds correct, you plug the extensions onto the PSU cables, instead of into the unit directly.

OK, thats not good enough unfortunately they need to be braided right to the PSU as the PSU will be on display... I think we will ask Jungleshop if we can return even though we messed up a cable

if you use the extensions, those smoothing capacitors are still doing their job and smoothing the current for you

if you replace that cable with a pre-braided one, then you obviously dont get the benefit of those capacitors

just something to bear in mind if you are thinking of replacing them

I'd take it back and get a proper brand, my experience with OCZ power supplies is not very positive and those capacitors on on the ATX connector look cowboyish tbh, it's as if they built a turd but instead of redesigning it they just lobbed some caps on the end.
