Keyboard between 2016 and 2017 MBP is identical. That's super annoying that you've had these issues up front.

I thought there was a change i.e butterfly switch gen 1 to gen 2?

?? I don't think they are? I have both of them - 2016 touchbar base model, and the 2.9Ghz 2017 touchbar. The keyboard on the 2017 feels like it has more travel, and is firmer.

Not sure it's 'better', but there's certainly a difference between the two - on mine anyway.

Reading back - if you mean the Macbook - again I had both the 2015 and the 2016 Skylake unit...Skylake unit had a better keyboard by some way.
