WWE's Chris Beniot & family found dead.

The idea that he was in the house for that long after the event contemplating what he had done before finally deciding to end it is beyond grim.

Yea horrendous, hopefully we hear more today apparantly the autopsies will take place today

there is another storey floating round now

From what I'm hearing now, Nancy (Benoits wife) killed Daniel to get Chris to come home. She had apparently been dealing with mental illness for the past year or so. When Chris saw what she did, he strangled her in a fit of rage, then killed himself.

Who knows what to believe :(

As sick as that story is about his wife killing the son, I sort of beleive that some like that happened, more than I do about Chris killing them both, from what I've read about him and from what other wrestlers say about the person he was, it just seems unreal that he would ever consider it

Ok a little update from another forum this story has been floating around a bit and seems the most likely imo but nothings confirmed

My second cousin is an officer with GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigations) and what he's heard in his circle is that Chirs Benoit's wife killed their son Daniel, called Chris and told him to rush home because of an emergency which is why he missed last Sunday's Vengeance PPV. Upon arriving home Benoit killed his wife in a rage for the death of his son and then killed himself Monday morning. His wife's body was found in the master bedroom, strangled with the cord from an alarm clock. The son's body was found in his room appearantly suffocated with a garbage bag. Chris then wrote a suicide note explaining what had happened, apologized to his family, his other children (from a seperate relationship), and his fans. He the fasioned a slip-knot noose from from rope taken from the garage and hung himself from the ballaster in the foyer of his suburban Atlanta home.

This story dosn't seem geniune as it conflicts with reports from the media, the media say benoit was found in the weights room and his wife in the bedroom afaik, all pure speculation atm

This is also rather bizzarre...

The 4:01 June 25th edit
If you look through the history of Beniot's page, you can see an edit over 18 hours before his death was announced saying he missed Sunday night's event because of the rumored death of his wife. I have not read any legit sources that suggest anyone knew about his wife's death prior to his, but that edit looks somewhat cryptic now. How could an editor have known that his wife was dead 18 hours before the story broke that his family was dead? Wesleymullins 04:37, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Yeah that is kind of really odd... Shows as the 10:01 edit for me, but ehh, still was before the 2:30 discovery of the bodies. Very weird. Also to view it click here -- Shatterzer0 04:52, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
That's 4:01 GMT. I think that would be 12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Savings Time. Or 14 and a half hours before the bodies were reported discovered. Rklawton 05:09, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Just to add to this craziness, I looked up the IP and it comes from Stamford, Connecticut; which happens to be where WWE headquarters is located. I thought this was too weird not to mention.

At the moment it is all IFS and BUTS and Conspiracy Theories, and until a full answer has been given no-one knows what really happened. All we actually do know is that the local sheriff department are treating the matter as a murder-suicide. This does not mean Chris Benoit is a murderer.

The police have confirmed its a murder-suicide, and that there is no sign of forced entry, and the murder weapon(s) have been found inside. This does not rule out an outside source. Chris could have returned home at the weekend and found his wife and son already murdered, and realising he cannot live without them killed himself in his gym. The text messages we have heard rumours on could be anything. They could be messages saying, "Something isnt right, Nancy isnt answering the phone, have you heard from here". Just because there was no sign of entry, it doesnt mean someone couldn't of gained entry and carried out this act.

More than likely it is just concerning the three now deceased parties. What is puzzling is that the rumours are that all three were confirmed dead on different days. Its possible that he could have killed his Son on Saturday while Nancy was away. She returned Sunday, found out, so he killed her before she had the chance to raise the alarm. He then, out of grief killed himself.

The other possibility is that Nancy killed his son, he killed her and then took his own life, as he couldn't live with the two most important people in his life.

He could even have returned home, finding Nancy hanging by the alarm clock cord after hanging herself after killing Daniel, and after trying in vain to save his wife took his own in grief.

It is all a little odd at the moment, why would someone so successful kill his wife and son and then his own life. It doesnt scream pre-meditated, as if he wanted to commit murder then why kill himself?

Heavy steroid usage causes violent mood swings. He could conceivably killed them in a rage, and then killed himself after realising what he had done.

Here's some interesting info following up on what someone stated about Benoit's merchadise being off WWE.com

In light of the Benoit family tragedy, WWE's Shopzone merchandise website has pulled all merchandise related to Chris Benoit. Searches for Benoit's name in the website's search engine are returned "discontinued."

Not only that but...

Benoit's name has been removed to the degree that the listing for the DVD of Wrestlemania XX now reads, "Triple H defends his World Heavyweight Championship against Shawn Michaels.

And WWE apparently knows more about the story than they are telling us due to the "WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time" line they gave. So, I', just guessing they know what really happened and are distancing themselves from Benoit's name at the moment.

Or because they don't know whats happened they're distancing themselves.

It's much easier to come back with a huge fanfare to 'celebrate the hero of WWE' then it is to back down from supporting a [potential]murderer.

Hmm, personally I also think there just removing the stuff so they no longer profit from his name.

probably to stop the ebayers cashing in.

What an evil person if it turns out that he killed his wife and innocent son

I doubt very much he did, he was an avid family man, somthing would have to go seriously wrong in your head to do that. I just doubt it very much but we should all know soon I guess.

His removal of merchandise can been looked at from three angles.

1) He did in fact commit this crime, and the WWE do know more than they are letting on, as per comments on their website about being asked to keep quiet. They have decided that it would be wrong to make money from a murderer and therefore removed his merchandising.

2) They know nothing more than we do. They have decided to remove his merchandising for the time being to stop people cashing in on his status, as invariably things for famous dead people increase in value, and also they dont want to be seen as insensitive for the time being.

3) They have been asked by Benoits family to remove the merchandising.

That said, it seems to be a little odd removing his name from the title of the Wrestlemania DVD, and stopping all searches for him on the website. Unless its a traffic issue that has forced the latter.
