WWE's Chris Beniot & family found dead.

I've read elsewhere that a few of the wrestlers during the tribute show last night showed signs that they'd heard more of the story as the show went along.

I've never been a huge wrestling fan but I actually had some big respect for this guy as aside from the entertainment part of wrestiling in reality he was actually a very skilled technical wrestler and submission fighter.

There have been many tragic stories in the history of Wrestling...

Yup, properly retired now, said something along the lines of he'll not be coming back....ever.

Shame, he was one of the wrestlers who helped put the WWE where it was now.

I wonder how well the WWE is doing compared the the WWF glory days?

Quite badly, I'd say. Storylines of old, and some of the feuds were brilliantly worked out, but some of the recent stuff is utter trash. I'll watch it VERY occasionally, doesnt really interest me any more unless there's a street fight or hell in a cell going begging.

Not bad I don't think, they sell out tours here twice a year and tour all over the world, have 3 TV shows a week about 16 PPV's a year and had Wrestlemania 23 in April at the Ford Field in Detroit which holds about 70,000-90,000 fans.

People of our age would say it's not up to much quality wise anymore but I think it's because people are a lot more savvy of what goes on in wrestling behind the scenes now and because of that it does seem predictable.

Was gutted to find this out last night, was definetly a popular character in the WWE. Met him at one of the Smackdown shows a year or so back, he's a great guy and will be sorely missed. This has left the WWE with egg on their faces as they currently had a storyline of Vince Mcmahon being dead which they obviously have had to remove all traces of it from the TV and website. R.I.P Chris. :(

Lost count of all the wrestlers who've died in the last 5 years heres just a few

Road Warrior Hawk
Eddie Gurrerro
Mr Perfect
British Bulldog
Crash Holly
Big Boss man

Just last week 'Sensational' Sherri Sherri Martell died and now Benoit.

We need more firm details, looking like a suicide/murder atm, I guess you just dont know what goes on behind the scenes in pro wrestling, when I met and spoke to him he seemed like a perfectly decent bloke but I guess you never know.

Just heard about Sherri. :(

Bam Bam Bigelow died in January to, there was a few i never knew had died, Big Bossman, Mr perfect, only found about those about a month ago, and they been dead a while now.

This is shocking news, and I assume like many others when I read the title before looking into the post I thought it was another hoax, and like many more wished it was.

Its a sad time for WWE and all its fans, and Benoit was/is still one of my favourite wrestlers, its a tragic end to a very good career and life.

It it is true about what has been reported then it does sadden me that his life ended in this way, but from a wrestling point of view I have the upmost respect for the man.

He may have murdered his family, and then took his own life, whether this was done out of malice or the reports are that his family were really ill, and it was a mercy killing then I dont know, but the authorities will provide all the details in due course.

In relation to WWE doing a tribute show so soon after was actually a very good move by them. In doing this they were able to celebrate the life and success of a fantastic wrestler/entertainer before anything could come out and tarnish his name. Yes, it may turn out that he is a murderer but there is no taking away from the fact he was still exceptional at what he did for a living.

RIP Chris and Family.
