X-Box Live

Aye, I run my wire from my living room to my Kitchen (where my (wireless) router is), neatly tuck the wire by the edge drill a tiny hole through. Cost me £5 for a 20m Cat5 wire.

£5 vs £50

You do the maths :)

just going tomorrow to collect my 30m cable from store for 8 quid + i'll not have problems when the microwave goes on.

through the garage and attic and down along with my surround sound speaker wire and sat cable. ATM i have to trail a wire from office through hall and kitchen when i want to play online :(

As far as I'm aware, the 'box needs a LAN conection, to keep the internet connection open, which means a router of some sort.

the powerplug options still need a router no?

And the cost for 2 of them is the same price as the wireless attachment.

Ok, I'm confused !

The ethernet cable should connect into the back of my Xbox and into my modem and then an internet cable goes from my modem to the internet connection point? Correct?

The ethernet cable that came with the Xbox goes into my Xbox but doesn't go into my modem, the only thing that my ethernet cable will connect to is the back of my PC. Is is possible to have my Xbox connected to my PC which in turn is connected to my modem which in turn is connected to the internet?

If not can someone recommend a cheap solution to the problem I'm having. I just basically want to connect to Xbox live whilst my Xbox is in another room to my internet point. Any links to OC products would be a great help.

Thanks.

yes thats possible, you can use ICS to do it through your PC, but your pc will have to be on whenever you play. You need a router really if you want to plug straight in to the network.
