I remember first playing X:COM Enemy Unknown at a students house across the road from mine. I walked into their living room and they had loads of PS1 games sprawled across the floor. I had previously seen my mate play it on his PC but never got to try it out my self. Once i started playing, I was hooked! One of the best games ever made I reckon. Although for anyone playing the game now for the first time may have you questioning that statement 
I loved the fact each soldier had his own personality (well that's what i thought anyway), ill explain. There was always one soldier who was a beef and could take a couple of plasma rifle shots to the face. Coinciding with this, if his reaction stat was high he would always fire back too. I always tried to keep these guys alive and would prioritise peoples lives
I enjoyed Apocalypse for its chaotic real time mode and deep terror (although the setting was a bit bland really) but the other games never really captured my attention.
