X-Factor 2012

I didnt expect a program like this to be popular on OcUK lol.

Dude, this is the most watched show on the telly, in the UK.
How can you think that it won't be popular on OCUK?
Are OCUK forum members "special" in some way?

If something is popular outside of OCUK, you can bet that it will also be popular inside of OCUK.

And for the record, I think you watch this show...probably every week, without fail :p

Why?
It's entertainment, humour and pantomine which nearly all humans enjoy.
I don't watch stuff like Big Brother, the dancing programs or the jungle one but I certainly know why they are entertaining and wouldn't call anybody out for watching such stuff.

I thought this years show had one of the strongest line up for quite a while but week after week they seem to get rid of anybody half decent, ive now give up on it as i can no longer watch rylan mince about being passed off as entertainment

Rylan is definitely entertainment. We may have got rid of the bearded ladies and Siamese twins which used to draw crowds, but the freak show is still alive and kicking. Human nature never changes.

Sorry but i cant see anything entertaining in rylan, sure some do because they vote for him, but will he ever sell records i dont think so, bring back jedwood all is forgiven

Actually, that accolade now goes to Strictly Come Dancing. :D

I was not aware of this.
I just checked and yes indeed, Strictly Come... is now consistently the top rated show, followed by XFactor.

I'm assuming that men and women are tuning in to watch the fabulous bodies/flesh on display....or is there another reason?

It is just good, honest, wholesome family fun. It is about as clean as entertainment can possibly get and has one of the nations greatest ever presenters, Bruce Forsyth, hosting it. There is literally no way it can possibly fail, and yes, the (tasteful) display of dancer-flesh is unbelievable.

Im not against anyone watching it :) I was just surprised that there was a huge thread for it on OcUK - I thought it was a thread bashing it (you know..like what goes on in GD :D ) So I was surprised that it was quite the opposite! Hee hee.

Of course we are all entitled to watch whatever we want! I guess I assumed (wrongly) that OcUK crowd is mostly ultra-geek & tech-style and wasnt into singing talent shows :D

Hee hee :D Believe me I get that line all the time from mates, I assure you Ive never watched it & dont have a desire too. Except for a 1/2 second glance as I channel-skip hopelessy before running back to iPlayer or 4OD!

And just for the record - I may not watch "X-Factor" but I have my sin: Eurovision :D

I can't stand this anymore, I can't believe that Rylan or whatever his name is still in it, it seems this sort of thing happens every year which ruins it.

Glad it's finishing after next year.

Does not compute
You must be one of those sheep that follows everybody else who knocks something without thinking for yourself.
Perhaps if you give it more than a few seconds you might enjoy the pantomine & comedy of it.

Far from it :) - I watch Eurovision and get the ___ taken out of me because I like it. In the end we should all disregard what others think and do what *we* like and that applies to life and not just TV programs :D

The closest Ive come to a show like XF is @ a house party when "American Idol" was on. All I'll say is that the creators of these shows are clever. I can see how its entertainment but I find it too boring lol. AI did my head in!

The lady doth protest too much. LOL.

You have now reached the stage where the more you protest, the most you are looking like a closet uber fan of the show. :p

This reminds me an episode of Seinfeld, where Jerry ends up taking a lie detector test at the Police station to prove he does not watch Melrose Place. Of course, he cracks and finally admits to being a huge fan of the show!

:D

Oddly enough no-ones called me out on a REALLY CHEESY show I *ADMIT* I love...Eurovision

They should do this with the British X-Factor.
On the USA show they are down to the last 12 and they are showing the leader board for the public vote.
