That's the problem I had, I had sound which was nice and worked fine, but the features of this £89.99 card wasn't being used due to windows using generic drivers for it. This is what I fixed using the steps in my earlier post. Basically it was like the equivalent of buying a brand new 30" TFT monitor and only running it in 1024x768.hmmm, now you guys have got me wondering becuase my card works fantastically, BUT in the PCI bus section in device manager it shows as High Defintion Audio Device and not SB XFI, also when i go to update the driver i only have the option to choose the High Definition Audio Device.
Strange?

I highly recommend you follow the steps, you should find your sound improves dramatically, especially now you can enable the crystalizer which is one of my favourite features

, when windows had my card as a "high definition audio device", all the creative software like the THX console etc wouldn't open, because it didn't detect a creative device present on the machine
