I can vouch for the starfield mat. Quality is good, a bit like those thick mousepads with a smooth surface. We played for a while on fabric and it kept getting caught up and folded over the pieces during movement phases - no such problem with the mat!

I'm thinking to give this a go, but don't really know anything about it at this point. Just to check, this is balanced still? 4 on 2?

Would it not be better one starter set and one different ship for each side, to give some variety?

the tutorial mission on the starter set is 2 ties vs 1 xwing and is the most basic version of the game, the x-wings are agile and have shields so 1v1 would easily win a tie fighter.

nothing to stop you ignoring the theme (or adding using hijacked x-wings or tie fighters) and both play with 2 ties and 1 x-wing.
 
I ended up picking up one of the Deepcut Studio mats and a large black tablecloth, also picked up a Millennium Falcon to add to my game. Though after watching a couple of friends play with that ship in a game, it looks like I might need a couple more Tie Fighters or a more powerful Empire ship to balance against the power of the Falcon.
 
I use some cut fabric currently as the mats were out of stock :) They do have two new mats coming out the deathstar 2 and Bespin. The Bespin one looks ace!.

Anyway Imperial Wise some nice bomber's are good at countering the falcon or a Slave 1. Just to let you know stock at the distributer has ran out so not sure how long supplies will last.

As a buisness we noticed a spike in sales after the new Star Wars movie!
 
Just been informed from the distributer that theres a price hike taking place. Standard expansions are increasing to £12.99 RRP and what we pay has significantly increased due to the falling £ vrs $.

Some lucky people pre-ordered with me when the prices were less and I had a pricing error on the Mist Hunter so a chunk of people getting it for £12.99 oopsy!

A huge restock for UK is coming end of the month with Wave 8 (according to distributer)

But wave 8 wasn't release yet was it?
