Nope, easyrider has had ATi cards before, im sure he had an x1900, but got the 7900 as it was quieter etc... :)
Not because of the Nvidia vs. ATI thing lol. :D I mean because he's been getting on my case about how a 7950GX2 is a much better buy than an X1950XT-X for two days. :p

lol :D

Ill await more reviews from the likes of firingsquad etc... ill take these results with a pinch of salt, for starters the article states drivers used were 6.7 beta's, yet the Official's have been out donks.

If it is significantly faster then I shall get one.But the chances are slim in my book.

I cant see that card beating the GX2 at High resolutions.

maybe he put beta int he review because they had to mod the 6.7's to support the X1950?

unless they were already supported that is

This card is smoking some good quality crack. Good stuff. All I need now is a decent monitor and the R600.

Yes but the performance benefits are pretty huge. Were talking 15-25% performance boost with maximum eye candy at high resolutions.

Is this not where we all crave for extra performance? I certainly think it is! :)

The price will be in the £250-£300+VAT range at OcUK and its looking like OcUK may have complete exclusivity on the launch in the UK of this product. :D

When? PLan on doing the conroe update, wondering when these are out and if it coincides with my rig buying time ;)

HI there

You will be able to order the X1950 XTX real soon from OcUK. We've pulled of quite an impressive deal with ATI which means we will have over 90% of UK allocation and you will be able to get it from OcUK as early as the 23rd August or possibly earlier. :)

Yes it really is a fast card. We all know how fast an X1900 XTX is so just do the maths, add 500MHz memory speeds that based on faster GDDR4 and you can work it out for yourself that this card will be a serious performer at high resolution with AA/AF+HDR maxed out. :)

Plus OcUK well be selling for approx £285ish +VAT quite a good price for ATI's latest top of the line product. X1900 XTX will disapear and X1900 XT 512 will remain at current prices of £175-£200+VAT, absolute bargains when you consider how fast the damn things are. :)

Y'know Gibbo, I think you should send me one free, just so I can test it out and report back....I'll send it back once I'm done, honest!

A note about the disparity between the VR-Zone and Hardware Zone benchmarks -- Hardware Zone were using a single core FX55 and 1GB RAM in their testing, while Shamino (a hardcore overclocker) was using a stock Core 2 Duo 6800 Extreme Edition and 2GB RAM and a wider variety of benchmarks and resolutions in VR-Zone's testing.

If anything, VR-Zone has typically "lent green" in their previous coverage and testing, so for Shamino to wax lyrical about ATI's Crimson Loveboat :p it must have made a good impression. Still, best to wait until the deluge of reviews from the more established sites later this month before making any definitive judgements.

Cheers,

BrynS

Thanks gibbo

A 485w enermax noisetaker can take this right?

review seems messed up...they have even the x1900 beating the 7950GX2 and we all know thats wrong most of the time. So we are still waiting for somthing worth calling a review IMO :)
