hi guys im running a x2 6000 with a thermaltake mini typhoon cooler and no matter what i try i cant get the temps to come down its @ 45 on idle and 66 under load ive got case fans all pointed the right way but it still runs hot.
any and all help welcome

the threshold for this chip is only 62 so its running really hot from my point of view, i used akasa grey compound and applied it correctly (ive done hundreds of others with no probs) i have temporally under clocked it to 2ghz but the temps dont seem to be comin down that much, i have only had this cpu for a few weeks and i cant afford to buy another yet.
im still at a loss as to what i should do, thanks for the reply

Is the fan on the CPU cooler running at max speed or is it turned down without you knowing? Or some CoolnQuiet option running keeping the fan speed low?

Vcore is waaay to high my 6000+ runs o/c at 3.4 with 1.325 vcore and default speed runs at 1.225. Mine is the brisy and i assume yours is the winsor however cant see why it wont run 1.35 at stock by trial and error.

If its the original Amd 6000x2 those cpu's run extremley hot anyway. That temp is quite cool considering.

while the winsors where very hot chips the brisy's were not much better but are 65w and 66c load with a aftermarket its not cool at all in any way shape or form.
@op yes m8 if the mobo allows you to lower the vcore it will be better for the chip an dthe heat output

ok guys i been reading that its possably a problem with the bios verision im using but i dont have a floppy drive to change it any thoughts how i can do it without a floppy drive???
