X360 controller for Windows

Test Drive Unlimited does have rumble.

I have Vista though so maybe it's slightly different. For Vista it's simply installing the drivers that came on the CD then chucking in the Pad. If you then press the X button with the green stuff around it, it then brings up a menu. Click the down arrow and update. Restart PC and job done. Everything I've played so far is rumbling at me!

hey mate i thought i ask you now since you probably used it for some time.

how is the pad for playing games like cyrsis, colin mcrae dirt, bioshock, assassins creed (when it comes out) isntead of getting a mouse to play the fps games.
 
I've only ever used it with racing games but with the official X360 driver all pc games with "Games for Windows" written on it will have natural support for X360. I tried it in Crysis and and the pad worked straight away with rumble support without ever having to set it up. However with the XBCD driver I couldn't get it to work other than in racing games.

Played crysis with X360 pad for a little and whilst the control wasn't bad it's no match for kb + mouse, for me anyway, but if you're used to playing FPS on X360 than this pad is perfect for you to play on PC exclusive titles.

I think it's great, it's the next best thing in racing games if you don't have money or space for a wheel.

It is a very fiddly process to set the controller up to use the XBCD drivers.

And yes TDU does have vibration in game. Sometimes my controller goes into a spasm and just vibrates like its having a fit. :D
 
I have used the XBCD drivers on the original Xbox pad and that supported vibration as well as the headset which was picked up as a USB audio device. Haven't played any games recently where I would need a gamepad but I think I would try the 360 one.
