When it was am4 i bought a 5800x3D
Was very expensive and never serve me to anything

They wont get me two times and now i have a 9600x
This is a great cpu for gaming, well enough for every games

Don't you think X3D are marketting ********, they want you to believe that you need that for gaming... But in fact you don't

Games worked fine on my 8088, 286, 386, 486 DX2 66, Pentium 200 MMX, AMD Athlons, AMD X2 and X4, Intel i7 950, Intel Xeon 5670, AMD 610E, AMD Ryzen 7700.

So no, you don't need x3d to play games.

I own a 5800X3D and it was a fantastic upgrade for my uses, I'll likely buy another X3D at some point in the future when I finally upgrade, which thanks to my trusty old 5800X3D will probably not be until the launch of AM6.

You have to do your own research into how it may or may not benefit you. Its not one of those things where you throw more money at something blindly assuming it will benefit your use cases

yes 9600x is very good in the gaming benchmarks that you can find

What GPU are you using? If you were using the 5800X3D with a low or midrange GPU of course you wouldn't see a significant difference.

X3d vs none is GENERALLY about 5-10% fps, much better on the crunch time frame count (so keeps lowest frames to more reasonable levels, aka less stutter). It's not like it's worthless gaming without, it's not like it's not a fair improvement if you have room in budget for it.

Purchase validation is a weird thing though. GL acquiring it.

What part of the marketing got to you? I don’t think I’ve ever been marketed to myself and that makes me a bit sad if I’m being completely honest...

I mean the way they say "best cpu for gaming" everywhere and selling that at an excessive price. And everybody run to buy theses X3D things

It also depends on what resolution you're playing at, 4K for example, you can still get good performance with a non X3D model, as the GPU is doing most of the heavy lifting.

It could be worse though, it could be a 13th/14th gen Intel that's self harming itself and giving itself dimentia!

The 3D cache is meant for gaming, the X3D CPUs are good for gaming, don't see the problem with that?

Everybody can look at the same reviews/benchmarks and decide what CPU they want to buy.

Do some users just buy from the hype? Sure, but there are worse buying decisions (like buying the 8GB 9060 XT instead of the 16GB one).

Maybe that's because i am french and i don't like success :)
Or better say i like humility

Our cpu are the best, give us 400$ !! Or the nvidia thing, we have dlss give us three thousands for our cards

You see ?
