X3D and marketting ******** "best cpu for gaming"

Maybe that's because i am french and i don't like success :)
Or better say i like humility

Our cpu are the best, give us 400$ !! Or the nvidia thing, we have dlss give us three thousands for our cards

You see ?

They aren't forcing you to buy it.

I wouldn't spend 9800X3D on a CPU, I don't care how fast it is, it was still £600.

I mean the way they say "best cpu for gaming" everywhere and selling that at an excessive price. And everybody run to buy theses X3D things

I’ve never noticed past,

AMD Ryzensets 7 5800X3D Processor (8 cores/16 threads, AM4 Socket, 105W TDP,100 MB Cache, up to 4.5 GHz max boost, no cooler)

AMD RYZEN 7 5800X3D CACHE EIGHT CORE 4.5GHZ (SOCKET AM4) PROCESSOR - RETAIL

100-100000651WOF, 8 Core with 16 Threads, 4.50GHz clock speed, 7nm FinFet Process, 100MB L3 Cache, Dual Channel DDR4 Controller, 3600MHz RAM Recommended, 3 Year Warranty
£319.99£299.99 (incl. VAT)

When it was am4 i bought a 5800x3D
Was very expensive and never serve me to anything

They wont get me two times and now i have a 9600x
This is a great cpu for gaming, well enough for every games

Don't you think X3D are marketting ********, they want you to believe that you need that for gaming... But in fact you don't

Try saying that again in English

It's not marketing rubbish.
In cpu heavy situations such as 1080p, they excel over other cpus.
In 4k, they don't really offer any advantage.

All the information is there for you to see, if you choose to look

It's a brilliant cpu. Doesn't mean the rest didn't play games.

My 5900x was a great gaming cpu but the 9800x3d is quite a bit better.

Not really sure what you are getting at, your 9600x is fine but it's not the best by quite a mile.

x3D chips are not needed, I would rather get extra cores for the extra £100+. It a good option to have though, for people that want them, just don't expect big gains in everything.

Your paying a premium but getting some extra longevity just like those who bought 5700X3D/5800X3D on AM4, I know you think you’re saving money going with a 9600X but the fact is you’ve just paid out for what is mostly a sidegrade.

Don’t forget that with upscaling becoming almost a necessity in today’s games that even when gaming at 4k you’re often still rendering at 1080p.

Only if you're a peasant :P real men upscale 4K at 1440P, realer men render native with DLAA (and frame generation )

How many of you weirdos have second accounts and troll post unhinged threads like this? This is getting out of hand.

This started with the chav/chavra thing and that was ******* odd.

Edit: this thread should be in GD.

While this is a valid rule of thumb, there are still CPU bound games out there that can benefit quite heavily such as MMO's in raid-heavy environments and a few others. As others have mentioned, buying into an X3D setup should be done after a little research to see how much/if at all it benefits the games you play regardless of res.

The 3D cache is meant for gaming, the X3D CPUs are good for gaming, don't see the problem with that?

Everybody can look at the same reviews/benchmarks and decide what CPU they want to buy.

Do some users just buy from the hype? Sure, but there are worse buying decisions (like buying the 8GB 9060 XT instead of the 16GB one).
i can go one worse than buying an 8gb 9060xt
how about buying a 6500xt [4gb one too lol]
for 179 quid in September 2025?
i cant so who it was because it would be incredibly embarrassing for them
especially because it was in fact me
there was reasons
but not rational ones lol
now where that x3d i need it for recording this guitar riff and helping me over share my problematic decision making online never mind gaming or fps and 1% and all that
