X4 Foundations

Just got the basegame on sale as having a space game phase just now. Been playing foundation galaxy mobile and osx game so wanted something a bit more grand. I liked Starfield so want to take this slow and enjoy the tutorial. I think the video on steam they released in December about how you can play how you want sold it to me. Im not a empire builder just want to jump in and fly around do a few missions.
 
Steep learning curve, there's still so much I don't know about the game (and I have hundreds of hours in it) as I much prefer building the baddest ass ship to pilot myself and just create a nuisance for myself.
Tiny, little empire going just enough to fund my own personal ship.
 
I dunno, as much as I want to get back in to it, its one of those games..... it takes up a lot of time and its supposed to be??? summer.

Thats more of a winter game, something to play over christmas period.
 
I keep buying the dlcs but still havent played any yet, i have 100's of hours in the older games but just cant get motivated to try this one yet. Hopefully this winter. Sounds like the update is a good one.
 
I’ve never got into it actually, whenever I do it seems something big is in the works so I wait, rinse and repeat.
 

Still not playing till a full campaign is in tho like x2 for example. Dont wana play without a focus narrative to enjoy. Even tho they put some sorta mini stories in its not the same. Biggest complaint for me is stations, there too modular and samey looking i prefer older x games where a spp looked like a spp, or a crystal fab. Etc. Something you can id easily without wondering what they are if all made of diff parts.

Well I bought 2 more of the DLCs I didn't have, only £8. Such a good game I will fire this up at some point and I will regret not getting them cheap otherwise.

Definitely don’t need them, I’m a good 20+ hours in (small numbers compared to some playthroughs) and still just pottering around in the vanilla systems.

The boron and Terran however are nice to have at least, as there is a lot you can do there, but not needed.

That’s good. I agree with Budforce though that it’s a ‘winter game’. I remember them saying also they were gonna completely re-scale a load of the ships or something not sure if that’s a future one or it was in this one.
