As in the title i need to choose a cooler to replace the stock one that will keep it cool and be a lot less noisy (noise most importantly). I was advised on another thread to get the Arctic Cooling Rev.2 ATI 5 which i tried to order today, but unfortunately OC are out of stock and the email i recieved back from them regarding stock says they have no ETA for getting them in again due to stock problems.
So any suggestions as to what would be a good substitute for this or better?

Cheers,
Zeph.

[Edit - i plan on ordering a cooler for it tonight as i have other things to order, to save money on delivery ;) ]

How quiet is it compared to the stock cooler? It states 18.5 ~ 28.5dB ± 10% in the specs, doesnt sound very quiet or am i mistaken?

I have an x850xt pe cooled with an Artic cooler. Almost silent and cool to boot.

Get one £14 you can't go wrong.

Lol i can't Mattup, OC are out of stock and have no idea when they are getting the Arctic coolers back in due to "stock problems" i've had a look elsewhere but the cheapest i've found them so far is £5 dearer than OC and as i have other items to order from OC i don't want the extra postage of ordering elsewhere.

B4Z - Hmm see what you mean, my case is a cheap Antec SLK3000B which really does not have good air flow at all :(

SLK3000B has great airflow if you fit a 120mm fan in the front and a fan onto the side.
The zalman will be higher quality, probably quieter and cooler as good at 5v and better at 12v.

Cheers Raikiri, had a look at case fans at this one seems to be my best bet...
Akasa AK-183-L2B Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin (FG-024-AK)
Seems quiet yet pushes a decent airflow compared to the noise Vs airflow of the other makes. Thoughts?

I'll be ordering a freezer pro 64 at the same time so i suppose the rear exhaust feature of the arctic vga cooler isn't really as important as i thought if i go this way.

Cheers,
Zeph.

I had an arctic on my 9800pro, made the case temp 1c lower than stock so i wouldnt worry about it although they arent bad coolers. The freezer is an excellent cpu cooler that will also aid air flow due to its design, blowing air out the back. And the akasa amber is generally considered one of the best quiet fans, although you may want to consider a nexus 120mm (the solid orange ones) they can be had for the same price and lpaces like silent pc review swear by them.
