Xbox 360 4GB bad idea?

Yeah, I'd have to agree with everyone else. The smaller hard drives made sense back at its launch, but it feels like there's a lot more stuff that needs space these days, from game installs, to all the DLC, to the downloadable games. Much better to go for space.

Thanks,
so its worth just paying the extra and going for the 250GB one then :)

is there any good places doing good deals/bundles at the moment?

Definately worth paying more for the 250gb, a good thing about having the extra space is installing games so your xbox doesnt sound like a tractor while playing certain games.

And as people have said, some games take a lot of space (forza) and 4gb wont last to long

Another reason for getting the one with a HDD in it is noise. When you have a hdd in the system you get the option to copy the game to the hdd. This allows it to read the game from the internal drive instead of from the optical drive. Even the slim ones are noisy reading from the odd but if you have a hdd installed it will just read the copy protection to confirm the game is genuine and then read from the hdd.

You will use up 4gb in no time. You can put a new larger Sata HDD in 360's but unfortunately its not as easy as doing it in a PS3 (PS3 is just plug, format and play) With the 360 you have to copy across your existing 360 system files stored on the 4gb HDD out of the box to the new one using a pc. Google for a guide.

Thanks , the 250GB just seemed like the best option ,
i guess there must be people who buy the 4GB tho....
ive installed the games on the harddrive and im impressed by it :D

Forza 4 will be on my list of games to get soon :p

BF3 is terrible for Hard Drive usage.

For example, if you run the game off the disc alone, you end up with the very low res textures. If you want the same game that the PC and PS3 owners have, you need to install the HD Texture Pack , which is 1.6gb. Then of course if you want to play online you'll need the various patches. The last one of which added the Back To Karkand content and came in at about 800mb. Thats 2.4gb of hard Drive usage alone ! and thats before you consider copying the DVDs to your HD to speed up the load times and reduce drive wear (thats another 1.5gb)

Good choice on getting the 250gb version.

I picked up a 250gb 360 S in the end due to the decent prices. I would have picked up the 4gb if I could have found it cheap.
Took my 120gb out the caddy to get data off it and then copied it over to the 250gb.

Can not believe how quiet these things are compared to the launch model.
My old one sounded like a hairdrier and was as hot as the sun. New one can just be heard and no more (when running game from HD).
