xbox 360, media center question

I have no idea. Even if the xbox couldn't play the files it would still show them if they had a .avi file type.

If you intend on using the Xbox Media Centre Extender (As in you have a media centre appearance) then I believe that still doesn't support divx / xvid (Correct me if I'm wrong as I stopped using the 360 for media ages ago).

You can still watch them through the blade menus but that isn't a media centre front end.

Yes and no, I tried it wirelessley and it was very juddery watching video's. Wired it maybe a different scenario. I may have a slow wireless network too..
no juddering here and im wireless

Well I'm not a fan of Tversity as I find it a bit of a resource hog and hate that it's Java.

thats not a problem, as when im watching a film etc im not using the laptop
anyway, so whats it matter how much resourse it uses.
i dont leave it running when its not needed as whats the point

I just plonk a video or whatever on my USB stick and connect it to my 360 and watch it that way.

My playback is sometimes jerky with my wireless, so this rectifies it for me :)
