Xbox 360 tearing problem

Cant say ive seen any of this so called 'tearing':p. Personally i dont sit there and try to nit pick every single gfx glitch in the game tbqh. Fair enough its a next gen console but what the hell do you expect really??, its not that cutting edge is it??. I didnt buy the console on the fact that i could sit there and go....oooh look at these purdy gfx :p...bought it because as far as im concerned the console and games play perfectly fine but then perhaps my eye sight is a tad worse than others here:p.

I have GRAW, NFS, Madden and seriously i dont see any tearing but then what is tearing exactly??. As i said i play the xbox because i want something to pass my time with, i sure as hell didnt buy it to nit pick every single gfx glitch...

Seriously anyone who sits there and trys to pick out ever tear in each game....well thats just plain ole sad tbqh.

Yeah PD0 is bad, and that blazing squadrons demo is pretty bad too.
Ninja Gaiden used to do this on the original xbox, but is fine playing on the 360.

Are there going to be any quality games released soon, as there really hasn't been much since launch, they seem to be a bit shabby and rushed.

Perfect Dark Zero (the worst offender, it's quite nasty in places)
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (nearly as bad as PDZ but not quite)
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII demo
Need For Speed: Most Wanted (moderate to slight tearing ingame)
Kameo: Elements of Power (splitscreen co-op only, it doesn't seem to tear in single player)
Madden NFL 06 (very slight, more noticeable in the cutscenes)
Amped 3 (very slight, barely noticeable)

The only serious offender is PDZ (and that still wasn't nearly as bad as Doom 3 on the pc!)

I very rarely noticed any tearing on GRAW - it really wasn't a problem at all.

PCs are not a fixed hardware platform so it isn't a fair comparison :) I think on a console you have a right to expect the game to have been optimised to perform pretty much perfectly.

Once you notice it you'll be VERY irritated by it, almost as bad as the feeling of someone walking in front of the screen when you are trying to play.

You don't have to nit pick to see it it's right there, it's rather annoying when people say they can't see such things when they really are quite noticeable, especially on the PDZ demo I played.

Well as i said perviously i dont bother looking for any gfx glitches, id rather play the game i have an enjoy it. But saying that yes there are a few games that have the odd stuttering/tearing now that i think about it but nothing major to make me want to have a moan or gripe about it tbh.

I had a tearing problem only when I just hooked it upto my NEC 20WGX2 via VGA. Had the 360 since weds, only got an old 21" TV atm, besides my PC monitor.

To combat the tearing, all I did was setup the xbox to 1280x720 which fit with the aspect ratio of my monitor. That's equal to 720p HD.

It looks a little odd becasue its stretched to fit 1680x1050 on my monitor but it looks lovely if you sit back. There are no other anomolies now though.

This tearing problem is just down to user error in setting it up properly. If you try a racing game, you'll notice the cars might be squashed horizontally as the resolution is wrong for the output device.

Looks great in my opinion. Can't beat my 7900GTX on this monitor, but a HD TV at 1080 will look sweet.

Dup you could be right to an extent.

For example, I have to have my 360 on 1024 x 768 for PGR3 otherwise the cars are squashed horizontally, but my monitors native resolution is 1280 x 1024, but having said that, would that affect Hz and tearing, not sure it would.

I'm not educated enough on this to force a view.
