Just bought one of these today as my wired one is broken.

Having had to wait 6 hours for it to charge then finding out how appalling it sounded i was a bit saddened. Also I'm having to shout to get any reading on Halo 3,is this normal?

Could anyone care to share their thoughts on their's if they have one? Do you have to shout? What's your sound quality like. I heard there a bit hit and miss.

Sound quality is a lot better than the wired one, a lot louder to, and the mic quality is a lot better and picks up my voice a lot better than the wired one did, and it filters out background noise a lot better.

It seems like you've got a dud one.

Gonna take it back tomorrow for a replacement.

Sounds awful and having to shout is a bit annoying.

Also, did anyone get a proper charger? The box has a proper mains charger groove into the plastic, all i got was a stupid USB charger.

Josh

I don't think they do the mains charger anymore, I got the USB one and bought mine a few months ago, it charges whilst the 360 is off using a low power charge mode, so it's not too bad.

Just doing some searching aorund the net and found a review by Kainz! Hehe.

I think the loop is too small for my ear. My "Huge" lugs must be too big. The unti just feels unstable and flaps about. I must have a dud unit because of the shouting. Also it doesnt feel comfortable, am i putting it on right, hehe.

My Jabra BT200 may look horrible but its the best fit of a wireless headset ive ever had.

May have to pick up another wired...

As said, the new models come with a USB charger rather than the mains one which is why I bought one of the Halo 3 wireless headsets, I already had one of the original ones with a mains charger.

I've never had a problem with the sound on mine and I've certainly never had to shout. Hopefully your replacement is better.

my wireless headset works just great. not that i use it all that often, kids screaming down my ear is something i dont want to hear

I have one of the first ones with a main adapter and it works really well for me. I used the larger loop and it even fits fairly well. Great sound as well. An essential purchase as far as I am concerned.

Same here, got one of the first ones with the mains charger. Works perfectly fine and havent had any sound issues. Fits around my ear pretty well although i noticed last night that my ear was getting kinda sore so changed to the bigger earpiece and all was fine.

Seems like the OP got a dud one, best to get it replaced.

I've got one of the first ones too with the mains charger. I had a few complaints when using it with CoD3 ages ago but that was all. For some reason I prefer to use the wired one...although the headset that comes with the new 360 Keyboard is utter crap (low volume), so I'll be going back to the wireless one now.

I tried 2 wireless headsets and found them both to be rather poor, others I know swear they are great, but personally I think the whole voice quality on the 360 is terrible, well not terrible but certainly not as clear as it was on the Xbox. Also when using wired headset I find anyone using the wireless their voice is a bit robotic.

I borrowed one off a mate who had problems with his and had the same problems. Some people didn't seem to be able to hear me/him clearly in Gears of War and Burnout Revenge. I found the sound not to be clear as the wired one when I spoke to my mate and he switched between them at his end. But as the above poster said, others have had no issues. My mate got annoyed and just got a replacement wired one.

I find it quite stupid that in this day and age, we can't even get consistent voice quality on voice comms yet :/

I was tempted to buy one, but after looking around at reviews the concenus was that the sound quality was worse than the wired headset and doesn't have as large a dynamic range. Shame really.

I was testing my Halo 3 wireless headset out last night playing Co-op on GoW with a friend. He said he could hardly hear me using the wireless headset, with me then having to raise my voice to be heard clearly. As soon as I switched to the wired one (from the elite) it was fine and I was loud and clear. I could heard him well on both wired and wireless. Should I get a replacement wireless headset??

I got one on the day they were released, I love mine. I use it on the PC using a crossfire adapter and on the 360 and apart from ocasional issues if i overdo the range requiring a quick power cycle of the headset to resync its fine.

Sounds clearer and is much more comfortable.

Im going to get a replacement, if it doesnt work well ill get a refund and find a wired one.

The wired one is way more comfortable also.

Mine's great but the batteries don't last long and MS were completely idiotic by not allowing it to charge as you play liek the play and charge kit for controllers lets you do.
