Xbox 720 document leak

Microsoft just trademarked 'Xbox 8' which seems to add weight to the rumours that they will actually call it Xbox Infinity (the 8 is a shorthand term for the infinity symbol).
They could simply call it Xbox 8 to match their OS and phone lineup but I honestly refuse to believe they are that daft, seeing as the console is expected to last six-eight years and OS refreshes are typically every two or three years. There are a couple of other reasons why they'd call it Xbox 8, namely that the OS is going to be the Metro interface that's currently on Windows 8 platforms.

Dont know why but infinity sounds cheap to me.

If they don't improve the failure rate of their consoles then I won't be buying a MS console again.

They did that ages ago. You must have noticed by now that Microsoft simply don't make these

anymore, and haven't done so for two years. Keep up!

Indeed.
Xbox 8
Windows Phone 8
Windows 8

I doubt it, unless of course the OS for the new Xbox is Windows 8 based.

xbox 8, what happened to 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7?

No wonder I thought this generation lasted so long, I missed all those other ones.

Hence the "I doubt it, unless of course the OS for the new Xbox is Windows 8 based."
The only reason to call it Xbox 8 is if it was to tie in with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.

As far as I'm aware the failure rate improved but is still unacceptable. I'm pretty sure from what I'v read that it's still pretty much inconclusive just how much of an improvement there has been.

It's been a while since I did any research into that though (basically when I made my decision to stop buying anything xbox related) so feel free to take that at face value.

The failure rate is non-existent now. It's even lower than the PS3 slim's. I don't know where you got your information from.

It's not really accurate to say that it has been resolved with any degree of certainty if the machine has only been around for a short time.

Anyone can release a piece of hardware and say that the failure rate is non-existent when it has only been sitting beside people's TVs for a few months. Not every Xbox owner will have upgraded on day 1 when the new version was released.

The majority of Xboxes out there will still be the older style ones.
