hmm anyone know why it wont let me connect to live? it says i still have my 1 month free gold membership and the conection test says everything is fine.
Just a name, when you connect to your PC on via the 360 Dash it will display whatever you type in there.

Just completed the update, and after having to re-download the additional media plugin, I can now play AVIs. One problem. It's totally ****** the aspect ratio when playing H264 content that worked absolutely fine before. It's now squished onto the left side of the screen, with a gap of around 3-4cm on the right side (26" screen). Some older AVI movies are fine, but this content played fine before.
Anyone else? And do we have a fix?

You can adjust the "placement" setting under display.
On the System blade, or when in the movie itself?
If you mean in the movie, changing it from Letterbox to Fullscreen to Native makes no difference. Almost as if it thinks it only has a 4:3 screen to display on.

Hmm, can only pick the HDTV resolution setting, and Screen Format is grayed out.
If it makes any difference what so ever, I'm connected over component.
So far liking the update although was a bit perturbed to find that it switched my 360 off after it had downloaded the update then took a few mins to load everything up, even though a few of the people on friends list came up before i could see them.
So far looks pretty good actually, quiet impressed with it and cant wait for the video marketplce to come online....got to find a use for the 120gb hd

I cant even get media sharing working (XP Prof with SP2 and WMP 11)
When I click share my media nothing comes up. NOt sure i have the network setup properly though - im such a N00b. I have read everything about it and it makes it so simple.
Probably doesnt help that I am on my work laptop, probably has some wierd security stuff going on. I cant see the bit where they say " Step Three - Click "Share My Media to" and then your Xbox 360’s icon." What Icon?
