xbox dashboard update.

Nah, my launch day 360 has been doing the same upon accessing the friends list or marketplace. Looks like MS need to do some bandwidth optimisation because live is clearly struggling.
 
Just noticed there is going to be a update on the 11th of december, where you can rent hd and normal films from the marketplace..will be sweet. 2quid a pop 3.20 for HD rentals.
 
But you would have to wait days to download it.... How big is a HD movie going to be? 10GB? 20GB?
 
Yup think that will be the case, couldnt be bothered spending 3.20 just to wait a few days for the download, plus when you hit play you have 24hours to watch it then is disappears.
 
Can somehow give me a quick low down on how to share media from a PC to the 360? I tried TVersity, but never worked. Are their easier bits of programs?
 
What filetypes actually work with the update? is it just .avi, .mov etc. - do mpegs etc work or is it a case of converting (or even as simple as renaming them to .avi?)?

Well, I actually got to the bottom of this!

It does actually play them ...

If I leave it on the blank screen for a while it pops up a "Buffering..." message. I had to leave it as I answered the phone, then discovered this message when I returned! :o

Took it quite a while (minutes) to 'buffer' a 3mb file though, which is odd (considering 100mb LAN connection).

Is that what others experience?
 
Anyone know if there's a way to force the Xbox360 LAN card to Half Duplex? Can't seem to see a setting, and I want to make sure it's not misbehaving (if it's auto-sensed Full Duplex). I don't actually know what mode it's using as neither the Xbox nor the switch tell me. I just know it's 100mbit.

I really don't think there is an option to force half-duplex.

Ive tried everything now, firewall isnt blocking it either.

The xbox doesnt appear when i click the share media box in the library tab in WMP11 :(

Edit, I do have some ePolicy thing running, will that affect things? Also xbox is wired and my laptop is wireless.

Im really stuck now though, it looks so simple aswell
