It's now gone up to £6.49. But I bought 4 and in converts to around 1 1/2 month of GPU. Which is a bargain for £6.49! *edit* I bought 8 :cry:
*another edit* 8 of the 3 months XBL gold converts to roughly 14 months GPU. So a bargain for £50.

So Xbox live is 25.99 for 12 months uk code. Can I just add three of these now and it will add 2 years? I think I have 2 months left on my current pass or do I have to wait for it to lapse?

I think you have to wait for it to lapse. I can confirm three years gold converts to two years GPU. I did it myself just a few weeks ago. Played two hours of exoprimal. Rubbish. Not turned it on since! :D

How do I convert that to game pass for the cheapest price.

I have had game pass ultimate in the I cancelled it a year ago.

I think you could buy 2 x 12 months of gold plus 2 months so you have 3 years gold in total.
Then purchase 1 month of gamepass ultimate and it will ask you if you want to convert it all to gamepass ultimate.
3 years gold converts to 2 years Ultimate.

Cheapest price is probably using a vpn.

Buy some more gold then just sub to ultimate again which will convert it all to ultimate at a lower conversion rate.

The cheapest way is buying gold and converting, you already have gold so it’s up to you if you want to just convert now or add some more gold and then convert to extend ultimate that bit longer.

Lowered the conversion ratio. It coincided with the announcement of phasing out Gold a couple of weeks back. 3 years Gold now converts to 2 years GPU. I'd assume there is a plan to drop it even further.

I think I've messed up. I bought 3 years of Xbox live for £75 with a plan to add them in November and convert them when my ultimate runs out. But I notice that Live Gold is discontinued from September and maybe the codes won't work?

They'll still work but the conversion rates have changed ( you will get 2 years out of them ) and that could change again from September onwards.

Thanks, yeah I just confirmed with Microsoft they will still work. I'm seeing conflicting stuff online with people adding 12 months of Live to their existing sub and being offered 8 months of ultimate as an extension. But I thought it was only 4 months you get.

Xbox are getting rid of Gold??? I have what was a 3-year sub (which I upgraded to GPU through the usual method) due next May - does this mean this isn't going to be an option going forwards and I'll have to do a full sub??

Is there any way to "load up" on Gold subs now or will that be a waste??

Gold is basically being replaced with a "base" tier game pass. I believe your gold subscription will just be renamed to Game Pass Core, so instead of 2 free games every month you'll have access to a select few Game Pass games instead (around 25)

Can you top up an existing account?

I mean 3 years old Gold from Brazil for 2 years of GPU is still better value than paying the £10 a month?

You can top up an existing account but the conversion rate ( of gold to ultimate ) is even worse when the account is still active and has some time remaining. The best conversion rate is when your subscription runs out - at the moment 3 years of XBL will get you 2 years of GPU. But I suspect things will change again, for the worse, post September.
