Xbox live just updated

Any idea what the xbox live update was for?

I just loaded up Geometry Wars and it updated.

Just about to post this. Went to the toilet, came back and I'd been signed out, logged back in and bam, updated.

I was playing COD2 and it signed me out. Xbox then crashed, rebooted and then it updated.

lol yeah prepare it for anti M$ piracy probably, updates in the background without prompt and ability to block any user they wish.

So do anyone actually know if anything else has been updated?

good deal, but it still read that you got just the console for £329.99

So the update process just signs you out mid-game, without even giving you a chance to quit or save your progress? That sounds a bit off, to say the least.

Its asks if you want to continue, so you can decline. However it does automatically pop the guide up telling you there is an update, which I can see being a pain if you are in an online game.

To me that seems the only downside of having the guide always running in the background.

Anyone know if this update changes the dashboard version? Cant remember what it was after the last update we got.

Surely the way it should be done, is to check for an update ONLY when you first turn on the console.
