Xbox one Elite or S?

Going to be buying an xbox one this week or next.

Whats the better console to get?. 1tb ssd elite or 500gb S?

Definitely the Elite. The controller is worth it alone.

The Elite is a much quieter console too.

The S has a slightly faster CPU and HDMI 2.0, HDR support and 4k Ultra HD player.

No contest really IMO.

Im leaning more towards the elite atm just for the faster/more space hdd and pad. Love the white s design tho

The Elite is old tech, if you want some new tech buy the S. The Elite controller isn't amazing either, but the S pad is supposed to be pretty cool.

I would go for the S because of the features. I also have the Elite console but because of the controller and the SHDD I decided to keep it when I purchased the S.

The S, without a doubt.

If you buy the elite, you're locked in, no HDR, no 4K UHD etc. If you buy the S you can buy the elite controller separately, and add an external drive for more capacity if you need it.

HDR > everything else in consideration.

(The above assumes you have a 4K compatible TV, even if you don't the 'future proofing' of the S makes sense imo).

I would be inclined to agree with this. Unless you *never* plan on buying a 4k TV/hdr /uhd blu rays

I'm confused - isn't the S basically a normal xbox with bluray and hdr support? New tech is kind of missing the point if it's pretty much 97% same hardware.
It's the same old tech just slightly patched and repackaged.

Yeah good point, if you have absolutely no desire to ever buy a 4K TV, or at least in the next few years it complicates the decision.

I'd still get the S personally, the 4K bug will bite at some stage, if it hasn't already :cool:

eugh, went into GAME and they only had the ELITE, almost bought it but decided to hold out for an S. a bit gutted but think I've made the right choice.

bummer, was looking forward to playing xcom 2 tonight.
