**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Its just coming out that if you get banned from Live on XB1 you will lose access to ALL of your games completely (Yes even the disc ones.) and the licences will become worthless so you can't sell them.

Ouch.

You have stated that you're not going to buy the XB1, so you've taken on the responsibility of posting any news that you find detrimental to MS sales?

I've already reported your posts to the mods for trolling, and I think someone asked you this before... Why are you still in this thread?

I remember a ban wave a few years ago and loads of un modded consoles got banned. Ms need to make sure they don't start banning innocent people again.

I don't think it's trolling. It's about the X1 so it's on-topic.

This isn't a thread just for people who like/will buy an X1. It's for discussion of the X1, good or bad.

Great. I can see a group of kids going around mass reporting on someone they dont like or just beat them so that person loses all of their games.

And this is different to Steam how exactly?

But your point is valid, most console gamers just aren't used to how the digital distribution ecosystem works and still buy/trade/sell retail discs. Microsoft are definitely playing the future card this generation.

You can open as many Steam accounts as you like (not that anyone actually does). You could have 1 account per game if you were paranoid.

I wonder if you can use the same trick with Live?

It might not be something they wish to embrace though, especially with a direct alternative in the PS4.

I have to say, what Microsoft are doing there seems foolish (for a variety of reasons).

No different to steam on pc.

I just hope the EU after the last ruling actually uphold it and force the companies to change.

Hard disc are there for birthday/Christmas presents and shelf space which means free advertising.
It's clear that its designed to be 100% digital distribution. We're in that cross over phase between media, just like cd-mp3 and many others.

Threads are not hives of lovins and circlejerks where only happy news is allowed. If the news in any form is relevant to the thread, then it should go in the thread.

you know immediately after E3 i was dead set on buying a PS4 but the more i think about it logically i keep coming back to wanting a XBO am i mad? or is this truly the right decision?

I am considering waiting for comparison videos between the consoles after launch but it will no doubt cloud my decision further lol

Why would you be mad, as annoying as some of the policies are, most of them won't affect people, like the ping the servers every 24hrs, it's rare to have Internet outages these days, even for a few mins is rare.

The biggest one is the trade scheme which is down to publishers, so who knows how that turns out. That's if you buy physical copies anyway, rather than just off the store.
