You can still sell games on with XO as well.
I know that, and so do they. Their opinion was based on e3. They still have the same opinion but I don't. Not that it matters because it's their choice
I was just basing the post on people at my work actually knowing what they're talking g about with consoles, not with what they can and can't do. It was just an example. O right my bad, I forgot the news only came out today and it will not spread elsewhere in time. Silly me.
It's info that will spread to magazines and gaming websites which kids look at. I never got my gaming info from BBC news, did you?
I've also seen it on ign, kotaku and ign.
A couple more bits and pieces have surfaced today, it's beginning to sound much more promising...

In his annual keynote for QuakeCon, John Carmack wrote off the triple-A industry's obsession with high-end graphics, while also deeming the next-generation consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4 "essentially the same."
"I haven't done really rigorous benchmarking [but] they're very close and they're both very good," Carmack told QuakeCon attendees, also noting that Sony had "made huge strides" in the last generation, especially regarding tools for developers.
"It's almost amazing how close they are in capabilities, how common they are," Carmack continued. He described the public reaction to initial fears regarding Xbox One's proposed preowned games lockdown and always-on Kinect 2.0 as "a bit on the side of a witch hunt," and that posterity would look upon these technologies differently.

Microsoft patents Xbox head-mounted display Tech used for multiplayer invites, playing VR games
A Microsoft patent for a "head-mounted display device" has been discovered, once again suggesting the platform holder intends on augmenting the Xbox experience with gaming glasses technology.
The patent states the device is intended for "inviting a potential player to participate in a multiplayer game" and uses a combination of "eye-tracking information, depth information, facial recognition information, potential player head-mounted display device information, and/or potential player voice data" to do so.
The patent was discovered one year after a leaked document showed that Microsoft was internally developing Kinect glasses technology.

I was a gamer as a kid and I know I'd be hyped over an upgrade. I remember reading the specs of consoles and saying crap about polygons and what bits they are and other kids would easily believe what I'd say even though I didn't know how they'd effect the console on a whole.
It's good to know your experience of your kid means you're right. I'm just talking how some will be effected, I'm not saying everybody am I.
I was a gamer as a kid and couldn't give a monkeys about console specs. I think you might have been in the minority. Anyway, I don't see why people are making this into a good or bad thing, at the very least because no one knows what real world difference it will make if any.

Maybe you was in a minority? It's possible I was also but it still has an effect on what people think about the console. Even if it's only a few hundred or thousand. It would still mean a win for MS. I never said everybody will believe it but i'm sure plenty of people would.
Why is it funny? Because I have an opinion on how it might change peoples minds on which console to get? I'm getting both consoles and will happily knock or praise both of them. It's people like you and the others who jump on the offensive when things get said that you don't like.

I'm not making noise, I had an opinion of a knock on effect from the tweak. Then the girls went crazy because I said something about there fave console.
I'm happy they can tweak it, and i'd love them to push it more. What I posted was just one of the possibilities of the aftermath of it & it's actually a positive for MS anyway.
For me, I do care about the console spec's, but the fact PSN+ is the same price as live, and all but one of my friends have Xbox (and are all adamant to get the Xbone) is making me think about it.
Then there is the fact that I didn't find GT6's demo actually that good.
I still don't want a Kinect either.

Know about computers but not the u-turn on pre-owned games? I was leaning towards PS4 until that particular u-turn. Strange to be honest as I never sell my games and almost all the ones I have are new.

No it's still a reason because they didn't like what MS was doing and I can understand why they still wouldn't want to get the console after the u turn. Who knows what MS could implement later down the line.
The second hand part may not effect you but it does millions of others.
