**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Exactly. The graphical power will probably be most noticeable in screenshots rather than when the game is actually in motion. Some extra shadows here, some extra details there. As I've already said, when you look at games like Gears of War 3, which is absolutely beautiful looking, and then consider than both consoles will be able to blow that out of the water, isn't that enough for us? Does it matter if one is more powerful than the other?

Coming from a PC gaming background all I'm looking for mostly is a steady frame rate. Graphics aren't everything. Yes if a game looks good that's great, but if it runs at <20 FPS then there's no way I could carry on playing it.

(not saying X1 games will run at <20 fps)

Having better graphics in the next gen will be nice but I'm more excited by the game worlds and extra complexity in terms of AI and interaction that the extra power should open up.

The Last of Us looked good but it was the setting, story and gameplay that made it not the fact it looked pretty.

But then it comes to games and controllers, the Playstation can't compete

EXCEPT I wish xbox just bundled the god damm charge kit with the control pads ! :p :D

I don't agree with games though. Playstation have had some absolute amazing IP's.

But yea I don't get why people are going on about graphics. Its a games console if you cared that much about graphics you would be on the PC (especially considering this is a forum by a mainly PC parts store lol :D )

Surely a true gamer see's each platform as a new experience and not a competition.

I've gamed on just about every platform since the 80's. I often game on iPhone/iPad too.

There are some fantastic games out there, you just need to be open minded enough to not be a sheep and do your own thing.

I will be getting a PS4 on launch. As for the XB1 there are no titles coming out for release that I want to try, only Dead Rising 3 and I cant justify the cost for one game.

In life everything is a competition ! You either win or lose, there is no in between. I plan to win by buying both consoles like I have done since the NES + Master system days (although I never bought a Saturn was far to expensive for the time). On top of owning an iPad which has some nice games on and a PC with a steam catalog I am never EVER going to play through lol

Life is good when you win. :D

I would agree with that. I'll undoubtedly buy both consoles, and will have tons of fun on both of them. I'm getting the Xbox One first as the launch line up (for me) blows the PS4 away.

I think that unless you are incredibly short on money, all gamers should own both consoles at some point, as you're doing yourself a disservice as a gamer by missing out on some amazing console exclusive games.

I always try to get all consoles I can every generation so I can experience all the games I'm interested in. Sure it has turned out to be expensive, but I regret nothing - had I not done that, I would really have missed out on some fantastic games. Sadly though, the Xbox One doesn't have any launch titles I'm interested in so I'll be going with the PS4 first as it has more launch and window titles that I really want. That's not to say I don't want the Xbox One to do well though, I fully intend to get it at some point so I can play the games I'll have missed out on by that point, so I'd rather it did well and continue to get games I want to play.

PC Gaming is irrelevant, I have no interest with PC Gaming as it shifts so fast. I like games that are completely built for a platform. This way you always get a great experience instead of a year later your graphics card becomes dated and cannot run the latest games.

Besides FIFA14 is not using the consoles next gen engine. I don't know anyone else who games on PC so it would be boring.

Now we are going to a next generation of consoles. Graphics is the ONLY thing that matters. This is why were moving to next gen. It should last for 6-7 years and needs to be as powerful as it possibly can be.

Shader advantage 1152 vs 768
Superior memory setup, GDDR5 all in one place with no tricky ESRAM
Twice the Pixel Fillrate

You are going to be quite shocked this time with the comparisons, its going to be a whitewash. This won't be 360 / PS3 minor difference.

I have to agree with that, as the current consoles have some decent graphics, and they're not powerhouses. Plus, the PS3 always seemed to play everything at 720p (or pretend it did when it first came out). The Xbox almost always was at 1080p.

No it wasn't; the vast majority of 360 games were 720p (or lower), there are only a handful of games for either console which were full HD.

Unless they were lying, the majority of the games I own state 1080p for the xbox, even back to those around in 2009. I haven't seen that many on PS3.

Majority of games don't even run at 720p, they are rendered at lower resolutions and then upscaled. Same with PS3.

(Sorry if this has already been asked)

Do we know whether the FIFA14 game will be some sort of code? (IE; sellable)

I have no interest in FIFA14, I do however have an interest in flogging it to get some cash back from the purchase of the console.

Graphics are not that only thing that matter, software is the only thing that matter and Sony at the moment have nothing that interest those people who are buying the Xbox One.

Their exclusive titles are poor (in my opinion) which is why once again I'll be going Xbox.

As for performance, I have no doubt the PS4 will perform better but the gap won't be as massive as raw number suggest and until some benchmarks are run you can't assume to know otherwise.

I like the look the PS4 hardware and I would jump ship tomorrow if the games were coming, whoever if I put a list of announced titles for both units next to each other and ticked everything I want to play there would be about 7 exclusives on the Xbox list and none on PS4's. This is what's driving me this generation.
