**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Oh I am very surprised by that, certainly makes that bigger price tag more palatable now, MS must have given EA a serious amount of dosh!

Yea, great deal for both parties involved though. Fifa 14 will have Xbox exclusive Ultimate Team content (Legends), this will generate loads of money for both due to the sales of packs.

Nope, it's all pre-orders.

Is that for definite?

The reason I ask is that on a particular website, you can pre-order the XO with COD: Ghosts (no mention of FIFA14) for £459.99, or you can get a Day One XO which states it has FIFA 14 + COD: Ghosts but is £484.99.

Will FIFA 14 still come with the cheaper one anyway? And if so, does that mean you're just paying extra because it's a Day One edition?

The email i got said:

Microsoft have confirmed that all Xbox One Day One Edition Consoles will include a download copy of FIFA 14 in the box! If you have already preordered the Xbox One Day One Edition then there is no need to update your current preorder, as the FIFA 14 Digital Copy will be included in all Day One Editions of the Xbox One console. The Xbox One Day One Edition will be available at launch in November. The exact release date is yet to be confirmed by Microsoft.

No mention of non-day ones.

I've never heard anything about the non-day one consoles. Only ever seen FIFA bundled with the day-one pre-orders too.

So if you want FIFA included, you need a Day One! :)

That would put ms in a very strong position.

I'm not so sure. I'm sure us early adopters make up a small percentage of the overall user base. The PS3 came out months after and had nearly everything going against it (who doesn't remember Sonys "Get a second job" quote lol). Yet it still caught up pretty fast and this time round there's only a few weeks difference between the two.

**Edit** Update with new source and some more info on XO architecture

Interestingly there's a bit for XeNoN89 ;)

Here’s the important points, for comparison’s sake. The CPU cache block attaches to the GPU MMU, which drives the entire graphics core and video engine. Of particular interest for our purposes is this bit: “CPU, GPU, special processors, and I/O share memory via host-guest MMUs and synchronized page tables.” If Microsoft is using synchronized page tables, this strongly suggests that the Xbox One supports HSA/hUMA and that we were mistaken in our assertion to the contrary. Mea culpa.
Some interesting speculation around the ESRAM with it still not being entirely clear how it will be used.
