**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

I've bought bf4 premium on my xb1 so no longer require the china rising code I got with my game. Anyone NOT going premium want it? (To use not sell!)

It's just a new product, nothing more. Not many companies offer advanced replacements of part of an order.

It is an annoying problem though to have 2 dodgy controllers. I know I'd be very annoyed if it happened to me. I wouldn't return my entire console over it though. That just seems like a major overreaction IMO.

I'm having the same issue with Microsoft. My controller arrived with a bit of the black missing from the guide button and the right side sticking out proud of the base.

They're not allowing an advance replacement so i've currently pointed it out that "my xbox is making a funny noise" so they can advance replace all of it if they really want. Will see what comes of that.

Otherwise, it's live with it, or wait until Amazon can replace it.... which i'm guessing wouldn't be with a Day One console too?

true its a new product, but its something more too i think, its not like this product comes out every year, its a pretty rare thing so really microsoft should be really supportive for this limited time, more supportive than usual. a controller should have been sent for sure to save a sale, i really think if he rang up again and gets someone else he could get another controller(after reading pioneers post maybe not)

Doesn't look like you get invites for friends, they just become a follower then you have to add them as a friend. You don't seem to get a notification of exactly who the new follower is either. Is this correct?

Also, plugged a USB drive in with some avi's on, Xbox didn't even recognise it. After going through the menus I can't even see anywhere to play anything. Are there no media options?

Yep, party chat is useless for a lot of people at the moment, I can't use it either. Have had to resort to using skype :eek:

Thanks for this! I had resorted to waving my arms around frantically in front of the Kinect until the little hand pops up. My wife thought I was slightly crazy. I didn't evening think to check what the gestures might be..... :o:D

IIRC neither console has the ability to play any media from USB or via DLNA. I am not sure if the Xbone can act as an extender (I havn't tried). Hopefully this will be patched in as it seems odd to at least not have the option.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that both MS and Sony are trying to push their own music and video services onto the users, rather than just allowing them to play what they want. However, the backlash from the public on both sides has hopefully shown both MS and Sony that we want to use both consoles how we did previously, and they can patch those features back in at a later date. It won't be very quick though, I'm sure both companies want to concentrate on getting the consoles performing quickly and stably before they start adding extra features.

That's true, I forgot about that. I actually did defend Sony on that though (as well as about the issues with the controller), as I didn't think it would be a major issue for anyone on release :)

Anyway, back on topic. :)
 
Has anyone had issues with either the Youtube or Machinima apps?

They load fine, I can search without issue - everything updates as expected so I know there is a connection - but nothing plays..? :confused:

In addition my tiles don't appear to be updating with any pictures - they either appear solid green or grey. I assume they are live tiles so should update (like my win8 phone).

I did note that someone had this issue earlier in the thread and a hard restart sorted it. I tried this and it didn't make any difference. Everything works as expected apart from the appearance on the tiles.
 
Just to make Dannyjo aware, i am still waiting for my Xbox One.

Ill update you tomorrow to let you know if anything changes.
