**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

You are a minority as there are few complaints in this thread of that happening except yourself. In fact didnt everyone get them day one? Pretty amazing really. How early did you pre order?

Not that early, beginning of November

As I said indecisive :p

Stock levels are weird though, there was some in my tesco today. I was doing a food shop and wasn't expecting to see any. Friends in some parts of the country have been saying they could have bought loads where that's the first stock I have seen.

I wasn't even indecisive, I was no, no, no, no all the way then for some reason I wanted one :D I don't regret it, PC gaming sucks.

People paying £600 is ludicrous though, even more ridiculous CEX selling them for over £550.

I would have had you down as nailed on to get one at release, I didn't realise you went over to pc gaming. I've flirted with the idea giant bomb makes me want to try dota :D

Yeah, the mega expensive PC is now used for web browsing, haha.

Why'd you delete me from Facebook man?? It hurts, it hurts bad. :( It's Christmas!

Game have been told they cannot sell the console outside of bundles, so its not just Regy profiteering.

Xbox One ‘juddering’ plagues UK TV watchers
Microsoft's new console is set up for 60Hz standard - but UK uses 50Hz, making broadcast TV 'unwatchable' if diverted through it, according to users!!

WoW! Bit of a massive oversight wouldn't you say Microsoft !!

Pain in the ass work-around for peeps suffering:
Here are the precise instructions. First, set your Xbox One to auto-detect HDMI (under Display settings). Then, toggle the resolution from 1080p to 720p (or vice versa), which should trigger a prompt window asking if the screen is displaying correctly, and if you want to keep the new resolution. Select “No” before the 15 seconds is up. This seems to trick the Xbox One into thinking that the TV is not compatible with 60Hz signal, and voila! 50Hz output. Depending on your television set, you may need several attempts to succeed – the good chaps over at CVG have verified that this unofficial fix works too.
Remember that with this method though, a blanket frame rate of 50Hz is applied to ALL content on the Xbox One, meaning that even 30fps or 60fps video games will be displayed at 50Hz, which may look unnatural or even exhibit micro-stutter. Of course, you can manually switch back to 60Hz whenever you want to play games, but this hardly seems like the seamless user experience Microsoft is shooting for. For UK and European owners who are hell-bent on piping live TV broadcast through their Xbox One console, at least this workaround offers a way for them to watch various television programmes without experiencing judder.

Why are people slating Regy? He's making a quick buck, why the hell not.

Because this isn't moneysavingexpert or hotukdeals with an ethos to making money regardless.

This is a gaming enthusiast forum and community, and his actions are definitely not pro-gamer.

Gah, I ordered a hdmi to vga adaptor with the chipset to convert the signal but the company said it won't work on the One. What's the difference with the signal between a One and a 360 because they say it works with the latter.

Yeah I have toyed with the idea of going back to PC gaming as I rebuild regularly anyway and the only thing I put in that's sub standard is my gfx card. RTS is my fav game type and consoles don't really cater for that :( I had a dream that they would use the chat pad for RTS on consoles, sadly it never came true :(

I deleted quite a few that I didn't think was interested in my **** :(

Is it HDCP support for TV pass through?

I'm sure I've read games don't use it so I'd imagine they 'might' still be fine via VGA.

Pretty sure the One needs to detect a HDCP link on startup as its all digital. The 360 could output analogue as well so HDCP was not implemented.

I'm sure I read something like that.. ?

So, has anyone had any problems with their controllers?

My day one edition buttons stick and jam, and my standard controller casing was loose. I took that one back to Game and got a replacement controller. This controller is now also coming loose (where you grip the controller with your hands) its loose and squeeky - horrible!

If I keep taking them back they'll sure accuse me of dropping them, but that is not the case and it feels as though it's shaking itself loose!

My console became really noisy last night, and didn't always read the disk last night.. to top it off, if I want it returned and replaced quicker than 14 days, you have to pay!!!! What a JOKE.
